Day 399 ½ – (AD 829 ½) – 0 Miles – Jim's Trek Part III – No Power On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Already three weeks without a washing machine. The parts have to be ordered. 12 more days of stomping on laundry in the shower. And I am asking the question as to what I would do without electricity and my 1st world conveniences?

Had a couple of appointments scheduled today, and I am taking a break from cycling on my Schwinn 170. I figured I could go 12 days cycling and then rest one day. In 885 days I have taken 56 days off. Not a bad average of 6.3%.

I am lying prone on the dental chair being prepped for my bi-annual checkup and cleaning, ready and relaxed to accept the oral onslaught of my teeth and crowns. Lights flicker; a distant explosion, the examination room goes dark. iPad shows Tampa Electric outage to the location expected for a couple of hours. Just glad there wasn’t any drilling in progress.

Blood sugar this morning maintained at 104. Supper last night; a stir-fry of chicken, green beans, Shitake mushrooms, baby corn, green onion, red chilies, Oyster sauce, and Fish sauce.

Today’s reading – (Tampa Bay Times, John Romano) – “You think Rick Scott is bad? Check these guys out." Sidney Johnston Catts, Governor of Florida, Democrat - 1917-1921.
