Day 540 – (AD 1,699) – 24.2 Miles –Jim’s Trek Part V – Mars on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

I now have 1,396.5 miles to go.

This morning I continued and pedaled 24.2 miles on my Schwinn 170. Totals are now 36,805.1 miles; 59,232.2 kilometers.

My destination is Ulysses Fossae. As I continue, I am now located at 83.62%.

Something to think and make sure to do something about –

If #17 was as much of a disappointment, during his acquired term of office, subsequent to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, would it be naive to say that current day Congress may have learned some historical lessons and Congressional oversight should Pence abruptly follow #45 into the Oval Office?

Something to think and make sure to do something about –

Reading – “Are You suffering From Empathy Deficit Disorder?”, Psychology Today, Douglas LaBier, Ph.D., April 12, 2010.

"First, some explanation of what I mean by EDD: When you suffer from it you're unable to step outside yourself and tune in to what other people experience, especially those who feel, think and believe differently from yourself. That makes it a source of personal conflicts, of communication breakdown in intimate relationships, and of adversarial attitudes - including hatred - towards groups of people who differ in their beliefs, traditions or ways of life from your own…

Most people are socially conditioned into believing that acquiring and achieving things are "normal" - even "healthy" - ways to live. EDD grows when people focus too much on acquiring power, status, and money for themselves. Nearly every day we hear or read about more extreme examples: people who go over the edge in their pursuit of money, power or recognition, and end up resigning their jobs, in rehab or behind bars…"

And the best news is that I was able to make the 73rd cup of coffee our the almost new Orenda Coffee machine. Costs of each cup to date is $5.95. Once we make our 361st cup , we will be only paying for the coffee beans.

Even though I did purchase this marvel of an Orenda Coffee machine, I will never ever use Kickstarter again to purchase an item.

Something to think and make sure to do something about –

The 2018 midterm elections are over. There are some losses, and there are some wins. And #45 is still holed up at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

And the best news is that I was able to make the 60th cup of coffee our the almost new Orenda Coffee. Cost of each cup to date is $7.23.

Once we make our 375th cup , we will be only paying for the coffee beans.

Even though I did purchase this marvel of an Orenda Coffee machine, I will never ever use Kickstarter again to purchase an item.

Ingredients - Water, Potato, Corn. Bring to boil, 20-minute simmer. Partial purée. Coconut Milk, Red Thai Chili Paste, Cilantro. 5-minute simmer. Shrimp, Jalapeño, Fish Sauce, Lime Juice. 3 minutes.

Fried Chicken in Tampa Bay

Several weeks ago, we began our Friday Fried Chicken survey to find the best Fried Chicken in the Tampa Bay area.

Time to post our Friday Fried Chicken Tampa Bay search results.

We began at RyRy's Chicken and Waffles. The red arrow is our starting point. Since then, we have decided to compare both franchised and not franchised restaurants.

This past Friday was Goody Goody Burgers on W. Swann Ave., in Tampa.

The following is our update and our own, let me repeat, our own opinion. Suggestions for locations in the Tampa Bay area would be appreciated.

Part 920bk – 1847 Death of GGG-Grandfather Louis Katz

Sometimes I need a time of boredom and frustration to lay off my genealogy and the re-search. And sometimes it just takes a kick, and a few choice finds to put it back into gear, for some time.

On July 13, 2017 I posted “Part 902bk – Brunhammer Katz – Who was GG-Grandmother Marie (née Katz) Brunhammer’s Father?” on A Genealogy Hunt.

It was at this time that I discovered the 1847 death registration of Great-Great-Great-Grandfather Louis Katz. I wasn’t sure that Louis Katz was the father of Great-Great-Grandmother Marie (née Katz) Brunhammer. Today I am almost 100% certain, based on a series of documents and sources that I have been able to find and uncover...
