Day 243 – (AD 1,405) – 21.0 Miles – Jim’s Trek Part V – On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning I cycled my Schwinn 170 for my allotted 1 hour and recorded 21.0 more miles. Totals now at 29,799.1 miles; 47,957.1 kilometers. The best number of my calculations Is that I finally have completed 78.00% of my intended journey.

Meanwhile, on Mars, I have finished 61.8% of 440 miles to my next goal point.

Tried something completely different for supper last night – Moosewood’s Huevos Rancheros.

It’s almost a complete vegetarian meal, depending on whether you call eggs not vegan. I believe the term is “Ovo-vegetarian”. Check out “Types of Vegetarians” by Jolinda Hackett at The Spruce.

Wondering if they give out certificates or diplomas.

Question – Recently I “do not have permission to delete this item(s)” on my iPhone via my PC. Previously I was able. Previously I had “Administrative” control, now it is telling me that I don’t. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Update on MTBD – All quilting completed, The appliqué is done. Now on to the label.

Day 242 – (AD 1,404) – 20.7 Miles – Jim’s Trek Part V – On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This late morning, I pedaled my Schwinn 170 20.7 miles. Totals now at 29.778.1 miles; 47,923.3 kilometers. Anticipation is mounting at the odometer turning the 30-thousand-mile mark.

And I have now completed 57.1% of the distance to my next destination.

This morning in our entrance somehow a large dragonfly got inside.

I have always been intrigued by dragonflies. Not the darning-needle types, but the ones which are a beauty of creation.

I put it on the kitchen counter fearing that one of The Pack would think that it was a tasty morsel. It looked like it had seconds to exist.

It then crawled up on my finger and then jumped to my shirt. I then took it outside and placed it carefully on a fern-leaf on a palm in the sun.

It rested for a bit.

Then flew away.

Good Day,

This morning I pedaled 21.2 miles on my Schwinn 170. Totals are 29,757.4 miles; 47,890.0 kilometers.

And I completed 52.4% of the distance to my next destination and goal point.

I’m beginning to see my A1c calculation move in a downward direction. This morning the number was 6.59%. On August 4th I topped at 6.66%, which was the highest my A1c has ever been

And yes I know I have diabetes. I'm just to ensure I take control.

Last night’s supper was a Shrimp and Strawberry Salad. I sort of followed an Old-Bay Shrimp Salad recipe that I found on line and sort of up the ante a wee bit. Instead of mayonnaise and lemon juice for the dressing, I used some Tzatziki Sauce, Lemon Juice, and Olive Oil.

I’ve been asked several pointed questions regarding Andy and my quilting processes. Stay tuned for the questions and the answers.

Thoughts today –

Just wondering whether I am practicing on my piano enough or not enough as I daydream I am seeing music and following the sequences of 1/8th notes.

Still monitoring my diabetes and trying to figure out what is a good glucose meter. My doctor now has me trying Kit #3. Must have to do with the type that is covered by my medical insurance company.

Update to MTBD - Most of the quilting is done. Yes, it was done on a domestic machine. Just a little bit more and then the appliqué.

Day 238 – (AD 1,400) – 21.1 Miles – Jim’s Trek Part V – 1,400th Day On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Today on my 1,400th day of pedaling a Schwinn Fitness Cycle I cycled another 21.1 miles. Total 29,693.6 miles; 47,787.3 kilometers.

And I have now completed 37.9% of the distance to my next destination and goal point on Mars.

Overall, I have completed 77.7% of the total mileage distance I am charged myself with completing.

Jim’s Gotta Eat –

Well, I tried something new for supper, Syracuse Salt Potatoes. Where have I been? I also accompanied that with Sauerkraut and Andouille Sausage.

Experimented today with a new concoction for a loaf of No-Knead Bread; Herbes de Provence Sourdough.

The aroma of freshly baked bread with the essence of Herbes of Provence definitely is a plus.

And in the mail today, I received a nice and small bonus check from the State of Florida. Lost funds found! Hey, I like today.

Something to think about -

This past Friday, without any problem finding a parking spot, I went to The Fresh Market at N. Dale Mabry and Fletcher. Days gone by it would have been almost impossible to find a spot for my car. Also, the aisles at The Market would have been crowded.

Ghost City! Looks like Sprouts, N. Dale Mabry and Carrollwood Springs Blvd, has certainly crimped their style. Further, I did notice that the prices on some items, especially the bulk items, at The Fresh Market were anywhere from 25-to-33% more expensive.

My prediction – The Fresh Market will be gone. Trader Joe’s in…possibly. Just a thought.

Day 237 – (AD 1,399) – 20.3 Miles – Jim’s Trek Part V – On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning I pedaled once again, (the boring part), for 20.3 miles. This is 1,399th day pedaling a Schwinn Fitness cycle. My totals are now up to 29,672.5 miles; 47,753.4 kilometers.

I have pedaled 4,770.9 miles toward my Part V Jim’s Trek goal. Today I completed 33.1% of the distance to my next destination on the red planet. (That’s the pedaling in my mind.) If my calculations are correct I still have 8,529.1 miles to go.

And #45 is attracting more and more false teachers as his days in Office continue.

‘God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong Un,’ evangelical adviser says” The Washington Post, Sarah Pulliam Bailey, Aug 9, 2017.

“When it comes to how we should deal with evildoers, the Bible, in the book of Romans, is very clear: (according to Robert Jeffress) God has endowed rulers full power to use whatever means necessary — including war — to stop evil,” Jeffress said. “In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong Un.”

Good Day,

Today I pedaled my Schwinn 170 another 20.7 miles. And I am watching my totals as they begin quickly creeping upwards to an amazing distance. Today – 29,652.2 miles; 47,720.7 kilometers.

And this morning I completed 28.5% of the distance to my next destination and goal point.

Last night’s supper in keeping with the Filipino theme was Ginisang Pechay. Main ingredients included Ground Beef, Shrimp, Baby Bok Choy, and A Choy (as opposed to Bok Choy.)

Oh yeah, my early morning blood sugar count dropped 23 points.

Warning –

Just wondering about all the warnings being issued of not looking directly at the sun during the forthcoming eclipse, just how many 45 supporters will not pay heed and believe that is some sort-of left wing conspiracy?

Per Slate’s article “New Climate Change Report Change Report Raises Environmental Concerns and Fears the Trump Administration Will Stifle It.” Elliot Hannon, Aug. 7, 2017.

“A small difference in global temperatures can make a big difference in the climate: The difference between a 1.5-degree Celsius and a 2-degree Celsius rise in global average temperatures, for example, could mean longer-lasting heat waves, more intense rainstorms and the faster disintegration of coral reefs.”

Genealogy –

Sometimes it is possible to follow a wrong lead while researching an ancestry line.

I have been researching Great-Great-Grandaunt Sarah E. Pierce. She was born 14 July 1841 in Maryland. One Sarah E. Pierce I discovered married Samuel Mimm 27 May 1869 in Chester, Pennsylvania. GG-Grandaunt Sarah, this Sarah Mimm died in 1909 in Avondale, Chester, Pennsylvania.

Her parents were GGG-Grandparents William H. and Sarah P. (née Fuller) Pierce. GG-Grandaunt Sarah E. was one of their 11 children.

Of course, I can follow their line and descendants. The issue is there are a couple of other Sarah E. Pierces in my research who may or may not be one and the same.

The line I am referring to may or may not be correct. Hopefully, someone may be able to provide some verifiable proof.

It is that I would like to but it is almost impossible to hide from articles regarding the character, or lack thereof, of #45.

This morning, as always one of my Google News search items is “Fabric Art”. I have set this is with my quilting hobby I am always interested in reading what might be going on in fabric art and the art of fabric.

And what should pop up?

Sheryl Gay Stolberg’s The New York Times, Aug 7, 2017, “Many Politicians Lie. But Trump Has Elevated the Art of Fabrication.

“Whit Ayres, a Republican political consultant here, likes to tell his clients that there are “three keys to credibility.”
“One, never defend the indefensible,” he says. “Two, never deny the undeniable. And No. 3 is: Never lie.” Would that politicians took his advice…
…Mr. Trump is trafficking in hyperbole, distortion and fabrication on practically a daily basis…”

Day 234 – (AD 1,396) – 21.3 Miles – Jim’s Trek Part V – On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning I pedaled my Schwinn 170 another 21.3 miles. On this 1,396th day, I have now cycled a total of 29,610.0 miles; 47,652.8 kilometers.

And I have completed 18.9% of the 440 miles to my next Martian destination and goal point.

A couple of days ago I listened to an interview with Terry Gross of NPR’s Fresh Air as she talked with Bill Moyers. During their discussion, Mr. Moyers made a statement to one of Ms. Gross’ questions that I just had to note, when I stopped at the next red light on my route. “Seminary is where I got my questions answered and life is where I got my answers questioned.”

Day 233 – (AD 1,395) – 21.1 Miles – Jim’s Trek Part V – On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Today I pedaled my Schwinn 170 another 21.1 miles. Totals 29,588.7 miles; 47,618.5 kilometers,

I have now completed 14.0% of the distance to my next destination and goal point. So far, I have pedaled, in the corners of my mind and on the dusty trails of Mars 4,687.1 miles,

And at times during my Brunhammer/Ganzer genealogical research, I may stumble across a sad notice of possible literary reference. This time maybe to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliette.

I'm not sure of any family connection if any, but this has all the elements dramatic pathos.

“Dernière Heure
Paris, 12 avril, 3 h. 30 matin
Mulhouse, 12 avril.

In this day and age of the telecommunications revolution, the legal profession is slowly, if not at a sort-of good pace regarding the implications of what can and cannot be deemed as “electronic” free speech. Moral to this article from The Dallas Morning News by Claire Z. Cardona, “Bride, groom who slammed Dallas wedding photographer online, in media must pay $1.08M”.

"No one is saying you can't go and write a review," Wishnew said. "Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequence. Things you put on the internet to attack a business have real world consequences and that really resonated with the jury. You can't go and burn someone's house down and claim free speech."
