Good Day,

Today I cycled 22.8 miles on my Schwinn 170, even in the rain. Yup. it is monsoon season here in Tampa.

My totals are now 34,562.0 miles; 55,522.3 kilometers.

I am now located at 62.61% to my new destination and goal point on Mars.

Something new and different –

Jim’s Gotta Eat – https://jimsgottaeat.blogspot.com/

For supper last night, I made Seafood and Corn Chowder. I’m used Shrimp and Pollock.

Also included, Potatoes, Corn, Carrots, Onion, Garlic, Clam Juice, Thyme, Salt, Pepper, Flour, Butter, Ghee, Milk and Cream.

Had to read this one - "Woman sues Chinese buffet for $1M over 'fried rice syndrome'".

Where are we going to eat at Christmas time?

Day 444 – (AD 1,603) – 23.8 Miles –Jim’s Trek Part V – Mars on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Today I cycled 23.8 miles on my Schwinn 170. My totals are now 34,539.2 miles; 55,585.6 kilometers.

I am now located at 59.61% to my new destination and goal point on Mars.

Something to think about –

Exasperation!

Disgust!

Frustration!

The current situation is the result of the continuous “dumbing down” of Americans due to a more than lack-luster depreciation of the American educational system. Period.

Jim’s Gotta Eat – https://jimsgottaeat.blogspot.com/

Supper last night – Fried Scallops in Garlic Lemon Ghee on Linguine and a Baby Spinach Salad.

And today I’m back to baking bread. Today’s fare - Something different: No-Knead White Whole Wheat with Omaha Steak Seasoning.

Just had a packet of the Omaha Steak Seasoning sitting on the counter, and I thought “Why not?”

For supper tonight, I’m going to make Seafood and Corn Chowder. I’m using Shrimp and Pollock.

Supper menu - Seafood Chowder and Fresh Baked Bread.

Good reading from the Chicago Tribune, “How to leave those bottled dressings behind and make your own vinaigrette”, Becky Krystal, June 29, 2018.

“I am the kind of person who buys a bottle of salad dressing, uses it once and then promptly forgets about it in a jumble of other condiments until well after the expiration date. I suspect I'm not alone.”

Good advice. I started doing this some 20 years ago. Saved me one hell of a lot of money.

Day 443 – (AD 1,602) – 24.1 Miles –Jim’s Trek Part V – Mars on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

After a 6-day respite, this morning I cycled 24.1 miles on my Schwinn 170. My totals are now 34,515.4 miles; 55,547.3 kilometers.

I am now located at 56.47% to my new destination and goal point on Mars.

Something new and different –

I am more than flabbergasted at the actions and words of those who seem to have pronounced themselves as "saviors" of the "American Dream".

So now I’m sitting in the Doctor’s office, after my short trip to the Northeast. Yup, I’ve got an ear infection. You know the type that makes everything resonate as if I am spelunking in some vast and massive cavern underground.

Sure, and when I drive all the cars and trucks on the road sound like they are powered by electricity. You hear the picture.

Immediate diagnosis, “extremely infected left ear canal”. And of course, I now dancing “cheek-to-cheek”, two butt needles. Doctor’s concern “Are you okay?”

“You’ll know if I topple over."

Jim’s Gotta Eat – https://jimsgottaeat.blogspot.com/

Tonight I'm going to try Indonesian Curried Cabbage for supper. Recipe looks simple.

Quilting – https://quiltsb.blogspot.com/

And after a 6-day respite we're back to working on the quilting of Cranes Quilt 06.40.

The top is completed. Each one of the Cranes is outlined and the quilting design is now on paper waiting to be transcribed to needle and thread.

Day 442 – (AD 1,601) – 23.8 Miles –Jim’s Trek Part V – Mars on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning I cycled 23.8 miles on my Schwinn 170. My totals are now 34,467.6 miles; 55,470.3 kilometers.

I am now located at 50.18% to my new destination and goal point on Mars.

Something new and different –

I am amazed and dumbfounded at the lack of substance and research some people commit to on social media when they think that their typed voices need to be heard. #CheckYourFacts

I am amazed at persons who speak for and in favor of vehement immigration laws. I have no issue with cor-rect laws which would streamline and focus on a justifiable and qualified entrance into this country. I am a citizen of this country because I chose to be here.

But what amazes me most of all, is the hyper-prejudice of people and those who call themselves citizens who have not taken the time or any effort to understand their own surnames and the reasons why their parents, grandparents, and ancestors came to this country in this landmass called America.

How many parents or grandparents or ancestors came to this country because they were fleeing consequential oppression, hunger, military conflict, et al?

It is a shame that so many naysayers live now in glass houses?

Sunday Evening, June 17th's West Wing theater had the "greatest" showing of "Starship Trooper".

Always wondered where some ideas come from...

Day 441 – (AD 1,600) – 24.1 Miles –Jim’s Trek Part V – Mars on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Today I completed my 1,600th day pedaling on a Schwinn Fitness cycle.

This morning I cycled another 24.1 miles on my Schwinn 170. My totals are now 34,443.8 miles; 55,432.0 kilometers.

I am now located at 47.05% to my new destination and goal point on Mars.

Something new and different –

Empathy.

There are some media stories floating around that a number of elected officials have been and are being denied seeing/inspecting the facilities where the children are being “housed”. If this is the case, we as American citizens have an even greater issue than the appalling circumstance(s) of refugee children being separated from their parents. We need to react and act at the curtailment and “gestapo” tactics of our current administration.

I cannot fathom the utter despair, if the same had happen to me when I immigrated and crossed the US border with my wife and 3-year old son.

Something new and different –

Apropos…

Dear Madam, did you never gaze,
Thro' Optic-glass, on rotten Cheese?
There, Madam, did you ne'er perceive
A Crowd of dwarfish Creatures live?
The little Things, elate with Pride,
Strut to and from, from Side to Side:
In tiny Pomp, and pertly vain,
Lords of their pleasing Orb, they reign;
And, fill'd with harden'd Curds and Cream,
Think the whole Dairy made for them.

So Men, conceited Lords of all,
Walk proudly o'er this pendent Ball,
Fond of their little Spot below,
Nor greater Beings care to know;
But think, those Worlds, which deck the Skies,
Were only form'd to please their Eyes.

OPOY
Andy Brunhammer and Jim Smith
June 2017
OPOY is our memory quilt of the atrocity of the Pulse massacre that occurred 2 years ago.

The titanium grey strips represent all those persons who tragically lost their lives. The colored strips represent the survivors.

Our intent is to compact the strips to, hopefully, portray, how the individuals may have felt as they were confined within their hour(s) of need and desperation.

The terror and loss of life is also our intent to express that we as a human can also celebrate the freedom of our individuality and our aspirations to reaching an equality of humanity.

Visit our site Quilts SB at https://quiltsb.blogspot.com/2017/09/q155-opoy-new-quilt.html to see and read about our composition and the design of OPOY Andy and I presented on the 1st anniversary of the tragedy.

Good Day,

There is a choral competition about to bloom between my orchids.

This morning I pedaled 22.0 miles. Yesterday I pedaled 24.4 miles on my Schwinn 170. My totals are now 34,205.9 miles; 55,049.2 kilometers.

I am now located at 18.65% to my new destination and goal point on Mars.

And today I finally broke the 4,000-mile left mark. I now have 3,973.7 miles left to complete my total goal of 38,201.6 miles.

Something new and different –

Question –

Is it #45’s contrived intention to keep everyone confused?

According to FiveThirtyEight his consolidated approval rating is moving in a negative direction once again.

From InQuisitr, dated June 3, 2018, “Scientists Discover A Second Brain In Human Body, And It’s Located In The Butt”, Rachel Dillin

"According to a CBS Los Angeles report, scientists from Australia discovered that human beings have a second brain and it is located in the butt. The gastrointestinal tract houses millions of neurons. Called the enteric nervous system (ENS), it controls the muscle movement in the colon independently of the central nervous system, according to a Uproxx report."

Question –

Does that mean the bigger the butt the greater the size of brain #2?
