Kale out.

Kale Is Out & THIS Superfood Is Now No. 1 In America” from mbgfood, by Elizabeth Gerson, Jan 22, 2019.

“Kale is SO 2018. The previous reigning champion favored by nutritionists and green-smoothie lovers alike has fallen from the list of the top 10 superfoods, according to a survey of 1,342 registered dietitians. What food could possibly be super enough to replace this beloved leafy green? The answer lies in some serious probiotic power.”

Jim’s Gotta Eat – https://jimsgottaeat.blogspot.com/

Last night’s supper was my attempt at something new, Chinese Daikon Radish Pancakes.

The sauce that accompanied the Pancakes is a Black Vinegar and Habanero combination.

The Pancakes are supposedly an Asian street and comfort food. Yes, I did like my meal, and yes I would try them again.

For supper last night I repurposed the leftovers from the Massaman Vegan Stew I had made previously. I added Shrimp and Garbanzo Beans and created a Massaman Shrimp and Chickpea Chili.

I tell you that both meals were great, but I did prefer the Chili a wee bit better.

Day 583 & 584 – (AD 1,743) – 24.4 + 24.4 Miles – Jim’s Trek Part V – Mars on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

On Friday, I pedaled 24.4 miles on my Schwinn 170. This morning I pedaled another 24.4 miles. Totals are now 37,831.7 miles; 60,884.3 kilometers.

My PC is back at home, with a new graphics board. After I reached my goal destination at Ascraeus Mons. I have computed a new goal and destination point at Echus Montes. The distance between Ascraeus Mons and Echus Montes is, according to Wolfram Alpha 960 miles.

I am now located at 27.29% of the 930-mile distance.

But you will notice that I only have 345.5 miles remaining in Jim’s Trek. This means I have made up my mind about journey. Stay-tuned for the upcoming Jim's Trek Part VI.

Something to think and make sure to do something about –

“An episode of a 1950s Western TV series has resurfaced, (which I discovered last week), because of its surprising parallels to real-life.

Trackdown, which ran for two seasons between 1957 and 1959, had an instalment called “The End of the World” that featured a rabble-rousing doomsayer named Trump who scares the townsfolk by claiming disaster is on its way. He believes he’s the only one who can save them, and his method is... to build a wall.”

This is the complete episode.

 Where's the Chick-fil-A?

Last night’s supper was a Chicken Noodle Laksa Soup. This was outstanding on the BS Scale.

Laksa Noodle Soup, Peranakan or Nyonya cuisine.

There are many variations and recipes of this French-Canadian Meat Pie. Follow the link to see the one I followed.

Supper plate included a generous slice of Tourtière, Mashed Turnip and Mixed Vegetables.

Is it my imagination or are the effective noise levels and associated verbal decibels of waiting rooms increasing?

Or is my hearing, as I age, becoming more sensitive...even though the studies recount that I be should losing the competency of my aural faculty?

The Facebook “25 limit” is deemed a hoax.

“According to Snopes, this Facebook hoax first surfaced in December but began circulating more widely in January, around the time that Facebook announced a significant change to its philosophy about what kinds of status updates should be given a priority.”

Reading -

The Guardian’s article “The seven ages of an artist”, interview with Laura Cumming, 15 November 2015.

“The old adage that those who can, do, and those who can’t, teach, has never applied to artists, nearly all of whom teach at some stage to feed their dependents. I remember my father, James Cumming, literally running upstairs to his easel after a day’s teaching to paint right through the night; money and time were so tight.”
