Day 137 ½ – (AD 567 ½) – Jim's Trek Part III – 0.0 Miles – One Year and NO Diabetes Medications on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

And this morning Grandpa took the day off from riding his Schwinn 170.

To date, since 2nd Dec 2012, I have pedaled my way through Jim’s Trek I, II, and III for a total of 567 days. Today is my 26th day that I have not cycled. (And if I didn't keep track I would feel guilty. Don’t know why? Just would, period.)

Today is one complete year that I have not taken any diabetes medications.

I did see my blood sugar come in this morning at 100 after I had two suppers last night. Without any required and suggested meds my fasting plasma glucose, that is, when I take it first thing in the morning, according to the American Diabetes Association is well within the target range for diabetics of 70 to 130 mg/dL. Smack in the middle. Exercise, diet, and no meds.

Babysitting takes priority. Thomas and trains and Duplo, Elmo and crayons.

The quilting of the top of our new Le Ruban, not including the border, is about 97.6% complete. Diagonal cross-hatch certainly does a wonder to the abstract construction. The first third of our Afghan #6 has been completed. Work now is underway on the design for the center.

And then I had to deal with issues arising from last August 2013’s kitchen flood and insurance companies. Repeat paperwork completed and I breathe and am thankful that a new orchid has bloomed.

I definitely welcome any comments or thoughts or ideas. Please feel free to contact me at Jim’s Trek.

Be healthy and enjoy your day.

Day 137 – (AD 567) – Jim's Trek Part III – Miles – Bunbury and Number 6 in Western Australia on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Today I completed 20.0 miles on my Schwinn 170. At mile 11,545.0 I reached my 6th destination and goal on Part III of Jim's Trek. I have about 23 days to reach the 12,000 mile mark.

And this morning after pedaling 2.8 miles I reached the port city of Bunbury in Western Australia. This one's a big one; population about 68,300. I then continued north on National Route 1, also known as Forest Highway and Old Coast Road. I am located at a point just about southeast of the coastal town of Binningup.

I am now about 97.8 miles from my next and 7th Trek destination and goal.

Florida is headed to the polls shortly to elect a new governor. This piece of Pawel Kuczynski's work can only sum up what I acknowledge and I most definitely think regarding the prime reasons that certain voting citizens make their literate or illiterate X.

I am certainly appreciative of his work.

And do I have a deal for you...and it may explain the most recent surge in alleged reportings of unidentified objects flying overhead. A UFO-02 Detector, magnetometer interfaced with micro controller for detecting magnetic anomalies. Available from Images SI Inc. through Amazon.com for only $48.54 plus $11.39 s&h. (How someone came up with $11.39 is way beyond me?)

The UFO Detector is designed to sense electromagnetic disturbances and signal their detection flashing 16 LED's simultaneously and beeping. The elegantly designed transparent plastic case is a handsome sculptured conversation piece that's allows one to see the electronics inside the case. Suitable for display on a desk, shelf or bedroom dresser. Size is approximately 3" dia. by 4.25" tall. Uses a 6V wall transformer (included).

I would suppose that our local electric company will soon be, or could be adding a line item to charge back expense for the lamebrain effort of monitoring beeps and whirls.

This morning’s earthbound Pageviews count is 44,766.

I definitely welcome any comments or thoughts or ideas. Please feel free to contact me at Jim’s Trek.

Be healthy and enjoy your day.

Day 136 – (AD 566) – Jim's Trek Part III – 21.9 Miles – Davenport in Western Australia on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Lightning, thunder, rain… Rain, thunder, and lightning and this morning I cycled 21.9 miles on my Schwinn 170.

Today I pedaled and on my virtual Trek I am located at Davenport, a suburb of the City of Bunbury. I am on Robertson Drive. Sychronicity?

And I am 2.8 miles from my next destination and goal.  Short sweet and to the point.

This morning’s Pageviews count is 44,665.

I definitely welcome any comments or thoughts or ideas. Please feel free to contact me at Jim’s Trek.

Day 135 – (AD 565) – Jim's Trek Part III – 21.0 Miles – Just About Donnybrook in Western Australia on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Another 21.0 miles on my Schwinn 170 this morning. Total to date has surpassed the 11,500 mile mark; 11,503.1 miles or 18,512.5 kilometers.

My location is just about at the Town of Donnybrook. This is a somewhat larger town with a population of about 1,940. And yes it was named for the suburb of Dublin, Ireland. This town is known as the center of apple production in the state of Western Australia.

I think I will offer to create the new American flag, that is, with 55 States. There is plan on the book to ask Californians to split California into six states. But what about 63 States? What about American Samoa, Puerto Rico, Guam, St. Thomas, St. Vincent, St. Croix, and St. John? Oh yeah, and the Northern Mariana Islands. I got it…7 rows of 9 stars each or is that 9 rows of 7 stars in each?

After 33 years of living in Florida I can only say that I am now a blood-thinned Floridian. Yesterday after I cooked supper and I decided to go for a dip in the pool to cool down. I keep the house open during the day. The outside air temperature was only about 90° F. I was cold getting into the water. It registered at 82° F. The 8-degree difference was cold. I was cold.

Got a call today regarding the possibility of taking a paid-for-time survey. I responded to some preliminary questions. Okay, yes I am centrist. I am a registered Democrat. I voted in the 2012 Presidential election. No I do not have any political bumper stickers on my car. Nope, I do not qualify… Maybe next time, and I got to find me some stickers.

Blood sugar stayed the same this morning at 90.  Supper last night Stir-fried chicken Thai eggplant, Oyster mushrooms, and carrots on Jasmati rice.

This morning’s Pageviews count is 44,545.

I definitely welcome any comments or thoughts or ideas. Please feel free to contact me at Jim’s Trek.

Be healthy and enjoy your day.

Day 134 – (AD 564) – Jim's Trek Part III – 21.7Miles – Noggerup in Western Australia on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Once again, this morning I cycled 21.7 miles on my Schwinn 170, and I burned 603 calories.

I must have read my fat percentage incorrectly yesterday otherwise I might have eaten just too, too many chicken nuggets. My Fat % two days ago registered 18.2%.  Yesterday it read 19.9%, and this morning 18.2% again. My average percentage is now 19.4% but when I began recording the numbers this past March it has decreased from 20.0%.

The red dotted line is the downward trend line. All-things-being-equal I must be doing something right.

Today I am just a wee bit north of the Town of Noggerup. The population about 8 years ago was recorded at about 400+. I am still on the Donnybrook-Boyup Brook Road. To date I have cycled 2,865.0 miles, 4,610.8 kilometers on my virtual Trek in Australia.

Quilting on our new Le Ruban quilt is now about 33% complete. Work continues on the stencil for our Equality quilt. We have received a new commission to complete a king size quilt. It should prove interesting as we sort through the fabrics provided. Work continues on joining the blocks on our new Afghan #5. And we are now working on the center design for Afghan #6.

And I stumbled upon a site O, PISH, POSH! and their article “101 Things To Do When You’re Bored At Home”.

MC I think you should check out #51. Just please forget about #64. And just make sure that the neighbor across the pond has put his binoculars away…#93. And LD I am expecting to hear your report after #58.

My blood sugar count this morning dropped again by 11 points to 90. What can I say? Had to have been the chicken nuggets. Tonight I am trying to create Szechwan Chicken Eggplant Stir-Fry.

Pageviews count is now 44,461.

I definitely welcome any comments or thoughts or ideas. Please feel free to contact me at Jim’s Trek.

Be healthy and enjoy your day.
