Day 468 – (AD 1,627) – 23.5 Miles –Jim’s Trek Part V – Mars on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Today I pedaled 23.5 miles on my Schwinn 170. Totals are now 35,106.6 miles; 56,498.7 kilometers.

I am now located at 31.0% to my new destination, Eumenides Dorsum.

Last night for supper I made an identical version of Melissa Clark’s New York Times recipe of Stir-Fried Chicken and Bok Choy.

One thing I had to remind myself, once I looked at my plate, my food is not posing for a colored image on any paper or online sight. I do not use “fancy” garnishes or tweezers when I cook. And I do not photo-model any of my food. I felt myself “falling into the trap” of “I cain’t do that.”

What you see is what you get. And if I could say, as I followed the recipe to the nth-degree, I know that my dish of Stir-Fried Chicken and Bok Choy was, no excuses, as good as the New York Times presented. And I remembered after I finished my plate, “Hell, I forgot to take a picture.”

And on a further positive note, my early morning blood sugar dropped 16 points to 114 mg/dL.

Something to think about –

I’m looking, and I found bottles of Goya Recaito and Goya Sofrito. There’s a special on Amazon.com for 2 -12 oz jars, one of each for $10.00. Not bad.

Stopped into Publix. Found the same, identical product, each at $1.99.

Lesson learned, I can pay more for comfort and delivery or save $6.00.

Our Cranes Quilts Update -

Cranes Quilt 11.40 has been quilted and faced. Couple of steps remaining, hand stitch the binding, attach the sleeve and create our label.

Our quilting design for Cranes Quilt 12.40 is, once again, something different.

28 plus 1 Cranes Quilts on tap to complete by year end.

And just a hint of an announcement, Andy and I have been asked to present a collection of our work next year May and June. Right now I'm working on a new set of designs. (Yes, I do start with post-its.)
