Day 103 – (AD 326) – Jim’s Trek Part II – The Sequel – 22.1 Miles – New Mexico On My Schwinn 150

Good Day,

This morning I cycled 22.1 miles on my Schwinn 150; to date and since 2 December 2012 – 6,455.3. And my Schwinn 150 is still holding up. There are no extraneous noises, clicks or whirrs, and it waits for me every morning. I think I've got my monies’ worth.

Today on my virtual Trek I crossed over the Arizona/New Mexico States’ border. I am headed in a northeasterly direction on US-60 E toward County Rd A001. From Google Maps, the satellite image taken from 500 feet shows my location at the B-marker.

Well the construction and reparations of the kitchen and the flood damage are almost complete. Wall-papering, painting, counter-tops, and base boards done. The new sink and faucet are just great but the new and replacement cabinets were incorrectly hinged. Since I conceptually decided that the complete project would not be finished until about Thanksgiving, I still have not become un-hinged.

And today is both Stress Awareness and Saxophone Day. Turn on Kenny G.

Well I found another one of Herman Wouk’s work, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, 1953. In this case it is the 1988 made-for-television version. Part I today, II tomorrow and it certainly goes into more detail as did the original film.

Be healthy and enjoy,

Jim

This morning amidst the reconstruction and workers I decided that I would complete my 21.0 miles on my Schwinn 150.

My current stats are: -
  • Location – Near Springerville, Arizona
  • Sequel Distance – Today 22.0; Total 2,176.1 miles
  • Grand Total Miles – 6,433.2
  • Miles to Go – 1,907.0
  • Calories Burned - 651
  • Weight – 161.8 lbs; Total Loss – 9.0 lbs
  • BMI – 22.6
  • Belly Measurement - 33"; Total Loss - 11"
  • Blood Sugar - 96 mg/dL
  • A1c - 5.11%
  • Blood Pressure – 120/78

Today I am headed east on US-60 E toward County Road 4365, and tomorrow I’ll be in New Mexico.

My video companion this morning on my Trek was the second part of The Caine Mutiny. And I have a question. “Why was José Ferrer’s, who played the defense attorney Lieutenant Barney Greenwald, hand bandaged?” And I checked out some ideas on the Internet. Guess there are some others that may ask the same type of questions.

Another orchid blooms...

Be healthy and enjoy,

Day 101 - (AD 324) – Jim’s Trek Part II – The Sequel – 21.8 Miles - 6,400 Mark Reached On My Schwinn 150

Good Day,

Today the circus began bright and early. The six-foot-six wallpaper dude, in a 10-gallon hat sauntered up to our front door. "Is this the Smieeeth residence? I'm heah to do y'all 's wall-pay-puh...eeeng". Yup, this is it.

And all the wall connections are pulled. I lose my Internet wi-fi for some time. (And they are back up again.)

But, and but, I did get on my Schwinn 150 this morning. I cycled another 21.8 miles and I burned an additional 680 calories. I'm still maintaining my weight so I guess I can't be used for one of those "sure fast lose all the weight in just three-months when you use the machine three-times a week for just 30-minutes..."

This morning I am located, on my virtual trip, on the US-60 E Highway, just listening to Andrea Razzauti's 2013 Front Street. I have just passed Winchester Boulevard.

In about two days times I should be next crossing the Arizona/New Mexico States' border. Today I have now clocked 6,412.2 miles on my Schwinn 150.

And the orchids at the house are beginning to bloom.

This morning, for my viewing companion while on my Schwinn 150, I decided to watch The Caine Mutiny. It is a wonder that I have never seen this 1954 movie based on Herman Wouk's 1951 novel. Well I guess I was only three years old when the movie was released. I'm not sure if any new installation of television service to Puerto Rico occurred in that year would have carried the "made-for-television" version. Well Part I today, and tomorrow, Part II. And I'm still learning things.

The top to our new RG2013 quilt has been completed. Damn it looks class, traditional but contemporary. We have finished the design of our quilting pattern.  Design work has begun on our new CK's GPS quilt... and I'm working on a new quilt art design of coconuts and frogs. Just a thought, but somewhat compelling and interesting.  Once everything with the construction is finished and done I will updating Afghans SB and Quilts SB.

Be healthy and enjoy,

Jim

Day 100 - (AD 323) – Jim’s Trek Part II – The Sequel – 23.0 Miles - Show Low, Arizona On My Schwinn 150

Good Day,

Today is the 100th day of Jim's Trek Part II - The Sequel, and this morning I cycled another 23.0 miles. That is a total of 6,392.2 miles of exercising and cycling on my Schwinn 150.

Today I arrived at Show Low, Arizona; elevation 6,300 feet and population just about 11,800.

I am headed southeast on N Clark Road and I am between W Adams Drive and W Cooley Street. I wonder if anyone else has Trekked here to Slow Low?

I do not have much to write about today. This house still looks like it is the home, or should I say some back alley joint that exists as a junk and knick-knack dealer. Today is quite... but there are tables loaded with kitchen stuffs and computer peripheral devices. I should set up some signs on the front yard that say "We're not moving Sale...but everything must go!"

As I was allowed to cook in my kitchen last night I decided to conjure up a quick and easy White Bean and Chicken Chili. And yes I followed, sort of, someone else's recipe, with a number of my own changes. I'll be posting my formula shortly on Jim's Gotta Eat.

Oh, and by the way it was so good, that there were no leftovers. And my FBS this morning was 91. (I'm still off the diabetes' medications, and I see my diabetes doctor in two weeks.)

Be healthy and enjoy,

Jim

Day 99 - (AD 322 ) – Jim’s Trek Part II – The Sequel – 22.1 Miles - On My Schwinn 150 I Continue

Good Day,

Continuing my Trek on my Schwinn 150 this morning I cycled a new 22.1 miles. I also burned 701 calories.

This is my 99th day of my cycling on my return trek from Seattle to Tampa. This is also my 322nd day of almost continuous cycling on my Schwinn 150 since I began exactly 11 months ago.

My virtual location is still in Arizona and somewhere on AZ-260 E. I am coming up on the intersection with FS 124 and FS 33L.

I decided not to cycle over the past two days. Just too, too many people were walking in and out of the house in the reconstruction of the kitchen... and the noise level, well you can imagine. And The Pack not to be outdone exercised their lung capacities.

Well today is a quiet day and the weekend is here. The noise and the construction begins again on Monday. Countertops, hardware, and a new kitchen sink...

On All Hallows' Eve the almost headless mini-Frankenstein made his rounds... in his Radio Flyer. And I just learned something.

I wondered about Halloween being celebrated also as All Hallows' Eve. If it is an "Eve", albeit "the day or period of time immediately before an event or occasion", what is the day after? Well, duh... All Hallows' Day. And I have never celebrated All Hallows' Day in my 62 years on this planet. It is the "Triduum of Hallowmas" and today 2 November is the third day. And I've got to find me some saints. Gotta think about departed souls.

And without my PC, I'm back to using my notebook and iPad and I am getting completely confused regarding access to apps and my passwords. Already I have disabled myself from Facebook... And needless to say iGoogle disappeared yesterday. I think I was prepared for that, but only time will tell how well I will adapt to the change. And to top it all, above the confusion, I broke the bridge and one of the lenses of my glasses. But you know since I started the cycling I spend less time worrying.

Be healthy and enjoy,

Jim
