Day 223 - Jim’s Trek - 22.2 Miles - 4,200 Mile Mark Reached

Good Day,

And today I can almost see my final destinations. Only 37.3, give-or-take, miles remaining of my Tampa to Seattle Trek. To date I have accomplished on my Schwinn 150 4,220.0 miles.

Today I am headed south on Highway 203 and I am located at Taylor Park on Carnation Duvall Road NE. My direction south is my route to my next Interlake address goal.

And the fantastic news this morning is the CK is now walking. He’ll soon join his Grandpa on his "imaginary" trips to who knows where.  Just gotta wait until his feet reach the pedals.

All-things-being-equal I hope my PC is returned shortly so I can plan my new Jim’s Trek Part II - The Sequel. All I can reveal is that at this moment I may be heading in a southerly direction.

Last night’s supper was half-a-repeat. Grilled corn on the cob and a Zucchini, Olive, Tomato, and Jalepeño Fusilli dish. I like the cycling cause I can almost eat to my mind’s content, and my blood sugar counted at 100, and there weren't any leftovers.

All-things-being-equal I have only lost 6.2 pounds over the past 223 days. My intention of my Trek was not to lose weight but to lose waist. My belly measurement this morning stands at 34 inches and my waist measurement is 32 7/8”. I began my Trek on my Schwinn 150 with belly measurement of 44 inches.

Season Two, Part Six of Continuum was the viewing fare this morning on my Schwinn 150. The show has added some interesting sub-plots, but the question is, if and only if there is a renewed season will the writers and the producers be able to go any place. Last night I watched Part One of Season Two of The Newsroom. Interesting setup but I’ve got to watch it again to see and understand any of the tangents that I may have missed.

Be healthy and enjoy... Until tomorrow, the Sequel is just around the corner.

Day 222 - Jim’s Trek - 21.7 Miles - I Can See For Miles And Miles And Miles

Good Day,

Today on my Schwinn 150 I can be found on that portion of US-2 W known as West Croft Street in the County of Snohomish, Washington. This pinpoint on the map is located between the disincorporated City of Gold Bar and the census-designated place of Startup. This morning I completed 21.7 miles on my Schwinn 150.

I now have, give-or-take, 59 1/2 miles remaining until my final destination of my complete Tampa to Seattle Trek. All I can now say is “Praise Be!!!”

I have begun working on Jim’s Trek - Part Two - The Sequel . I still have not come up with an overall basis for The Sequel. Yes, virtually I have to get home to Tampa. Yes, virtually I will be seeking out the Interlake address points on the return journey. Yes, realistically I cannot stop the exercise which has definitely contributed to my current state of health. But what is my overall umbrella reason for my doing my next Trek on my Schwinn 150?

My blood sugar counts, after picking at foods all day yesterday, registered in at 93 mg/dL. On Day 26 of no diabetes medication I am still focused at a fair control of my glucose blood levels.

Not sure what I am going to concoct for supper tonight, but I know I want something different, something that is simple but yet something that good.

I’m still using and organizing myself with the online program Chains.cc. It certainly is a much simpler way of getting things done that I want to get done. Note that I wrote "that I want to get done." Also I have been keeping up with 750 Words.

I think we have finalized the design for our Tampa Kaleidoscope quilt. As it works out I can definitely thank Bruce Seeds for being our inspiration. We’re just working on the quilting design, and I think that it will be focused on highlighting the Kaleidoscope effect. Our Sea Foam afghan has now increased in width to 25 1/2 inches.  Just another 24 1/2, give-or-take, inches to go.

As I work on Jim’s Trek - Part Two - The Sequel, I am now trying to decide whether to watch, as my in-cycle viewing pleasure, The West Wing or Warehouse 13. Stay tuned.

And I can't wait for my upgraded PC to find its way back home.

Be healthy and enjoy,

Jim

Day 221 - Jim’s Trek - 20.2 Miles - Countdown To Final Destination Begins

Good Day,

This morning I had to rise up early and cycle my 20.2 miles on my Schwinn 150. Today, this afternoon was the grand celebration of my Grandson’s 1st Birthday. I wanted to make sure that I got my exercise done before I would party with all the one and two-year olds. And now we’ve all gone home to take naps.

Today I am located, still in the State of Washington, on US-2 W/Stevens Pass Highway just before Town of Skykomish. Large town with a population of about 198.

I have now reached the “less than 100 miles” mark on my Trek. Only 81.7 miles to reach my final destination in Seattle. Total miles to date - 4,176.1.

Yesterday I should have been playing a G#m but I kept playing a G natural. And it really stuck out like a sour note.

Work on Sea Foam afghan has added to the width. It is now at 24 inches. The inner top of our Tampa Kaleidoscope quilt now measures 84” by 72”. The fabrics for the borders, framing, and background have been chosen.

Be healthy and enjoy,

Jim

Day 220 – Jim’s Trek – 22.5 Miles – 101 Left To Go

Good Day,

This morning I am on my Schwinn 150 on Highway US-2 W and and at the intersection of NF-6700. My 22.5 miles places me just east of Lichtenberg Mountain which peaks between Lichtenwasser and Valhalla Lakes. Lichtenberg Mountain tops at 5,844 feet. Cycling this morning, once again, at a resistance of 11 of 15 certainly provides my legs the distinct impression that I am sort-of moving in an upward grade.

My total miles on Day 220 on my Schwinn 150 now clocks in at 4,155.9 miles. Based on my calculations I have only 101 miles remaining to reach my final destination in Seattle. Damn, I just can’t believe that I have actually almost finished that which I set out to do. And you will not believe my last two destinations on this completion of my Trek.

All-things-being-equal, I should finish this first part of my journey this coming Wednesday.

I’m really thinking about what I need to do as an overall goal for my Jim’s Trek – Part II; the new Trek that I intend to start after I reach my final and ultimate Interlake destination in Seattle. I am mentally trying to formulate what exactly I do to take my exercise journey to the next level.

Not much to report on the supper front. I just had some leftover homemade turkey and chorizo soup/stew/chowder that I created a couple of days back.

And my Trek viewing this morning was part two of Chicken Tikka Masala. Now I think I want Indian food for supper tonight.

Gonna keep this posting short. Today I have to take my PC into the shop; the new motherboard and upgrades have arrived. I'll be using the Notebook and the iPad for the next couple of days.

Be healthy and enjoy,

Jim

Day 219 – Jim’s Trek – 22.0 Miles – On My Schwinn 150 in The Rockies

Good Day,

Today I cycled 22.0 miles on my Schwinn 150. Total miles completed this 219th day – 4,133.4. I’m averaging now 19 miles a day and I doing it in about 1 hour and 6 minutes.

This morning my journey has me located, from a satellite viewpoint, on US-2 W headed north somewhere in The Rockies. From my vantage point I appear to be a wee bit east of Hatchery Creek, and I am following a river toward NF-112. Hatchery Creek appears to run into the river that follows US-2. I passed through the City of Leavenworth, Washington, population 1,970.

My belly measurement remains at 34 inches, 10 inches down from when I started my Trek. I also just measured my real waist; it figures in at 33 inches. Not bad for trying. Success!

Thanks to all the well-wishers and readers of my Jim’s Trek blog. I am actually quite surprised that there are as many taking notice, more than I truly expected. Since I began my Trek and writing my blog on November 28, 2012 there has been, according to Blogger Stats 15,505 Pageviews.

The following map is a mapping of my Trek including, to date all 24 Interlake address points. I had to cut and paste Goggle Maps productions as it appears that the program can only provide for 21 destinations. Oh, and yeah, I still have two more destinations to go and add.

This morning’s viewing pleasure is part one of Chicken Tikka Masala… And I thought it was a movie about food. Wrong. It is about being trying to be true to oneself… at the same time trying to juggle and understand familial wishes.

And Chantal appears to have gone up in a puff-of-smoke. All I know is that she’s a little Papillion that lives down the street and yelps at The Pack every time we walk by her house. Well I got to find out where Dorian now lives and maybe I may get a picture of him, at some point.

Supper last night was at Yummy House on West Waters. Chinese food fare and I try to get something different each time we go. I haven’t had the nerves as yet to order the Bitter Melon Frog Pot or the Sizzling Frog with Ginger Scallion.

Noticed that there is a new Jamaican restaurant at the end of the same strip mall, Ginja Bay Café. Got to stop in there one Saturday morning to try the Ackee and Salt Fish.

Only some few more miles to go. Be healthy and enjoy,

Jim
