Day 178 – (AD 1,083) – 22.2 Miles – Jim's Trek Part IV – Thinking On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning I pedaled another 22.2 miles on my Schwinn 170. I can now record my totals at 23,098.5 miles; 37,173.5 kilometers.

And I really do not know, apart from the fact that it looks like a dirt road in the middle of a field, where Google Maps has located me on the virtual part of my journey. I do know that the Google Mobile staff could not find a street name sign. I am located on an Unnamed Rd, 72100 Brindisi BR, Italy.

Question – Postulating that Donald Trump is not elected President, what exactly does he expect to be doing on January 21? How many apology letters will he be penning?

I heard, last night, in passing on a local, and I mean really local, TV news report that the Polk County, Florida, Sheriff truly thinks that he has the concerted power/competency to sue Apple to force them to open one of his inmates/potential miscreant's iPhone in order to obtain what he may determine as credible evidence?

And I now understand why I feel blaaaaah.

Our new quilt bands 6, 7, and 8 are done.

Day 177 – (AD 1,082) – 23.6 Miles – Jim's Trek Part IV – Continuing On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning I clocked up another 23.6 miles on my Schwinn 170. Totals: 23,076.3 miles; 37,137.8 kilometers.

And now that I am closing in on the soon to end goal of my Parts I, II, III, and IV of my Trek, only 7.3% to go, I’m now trying to think about Part V. Obviously there are multiple reasons for the physical part of my journey but are there any the virtual part?

Today I am located at a point on the SP133, 73100 Lecce LE, Italy. I had to get back on the road. There is now 26.5 more miles until my next destination and goal point.

I’m just wondering if the current slate of political candidates is getting their ideas from streaming the four season of House of Cards.

I can’t imagine them to be as deft and adroit as they truly think they are.

Just took loaves #99 and #100 out of the oven. The house is filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread. Damn, I just love fresh-baked bread.

#99 Hemp Seed (lt); #100 Flax Seed (rt)

And I’m close… sort of. Today’s saint of the Day is St. Frances of Rome and the recipe for today is Scottish Oat Scones. Oh yeah, she’s the patron of automobile drivers, automobilists, cab or taxi drivers, motorists…to name a few. But there is nary a mention of Uber.

Bands 6 and 7 have been completed. Number 8 is left and currently on the sewing table,

Day 176 – (AD 1,081) – 22.7 Miles – Jim's Trek Part IV – Still On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

And this morning I pedaled another 22.7 miles on my Schwinn 170. I have now cycled 23,052.7 miles; 37,099.8 kilometers.

My Google Maps location is once again off the tarred roads. I am located at an Unnamed Rd, 73028 Otranto LE, Italy and heading northward.

Not sure where I want to go and think about today.

And it has been 357 years and, if I may note, it does appear that there is quite a contingent of persons and politicians who have not developed today too any length and come to an explicit realization that certain things and times do change…

Permission Was Needed To Move
To live in a community, young men were required to request permission if they were unmarried, had no servant, and were not a public officer. In 1659, it became law in Massachusetts for towns to grant public relief to all residents of over three months. The practice of 'warning out' was developed to prevent towns from taking on unwanted financial burdens. This basically meant that anyone suspected of being a vagabond or a leech would be warned that they needed to move along. Community leaders would personally escort the person being warned out to the next town's borders if necessary.

5 of 8 bands have been completed on our new quilt, and the five have been sewn together.

I tried a new variation on a sourdough no-knead bread. Loaf #98, tastes good...but sort of looks like a failure right out the oven.

Day 175 – (AD 1,080) – 22.2 Miles – Jim's Trek Part IV – On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning I pedaled 2.2 miles on my Schwinn 170. Totals – 23,030.0 miles; 37,063.3 kilometers. Only 7 ½% of my overall distance remaining.

I made it to my next destination and goal point today, the lowest point on the heel of the boot - Via Toma G., 50, 73040 Leuca LE, Italy.

That distance was 13.3 miles from where I started the virtual part of my Trek this morning. I then turned northward and I continued on for another 8.9 miles. I stopped at a location, SP358, Corsano LE, Italy, almost parallel to where I began this morning in Corso Vittoria.

Who is a current-day-cross between, Lucille Ball, Carol Burnette, French and Saunders, Laurel and Hardy, and The Golden Girls?

Miranda, Miranda Hart.

I am currently laughing, chortling, giggling, and snorting as 6’ 1” Miranda joins me as my pedaling companion.

Question – What is the data that I am using and paying for via my phone and Internet service? I can read the numbers on my bills, but exactly what am I paying for?

Band #5 under construction.

Day 174 – (AD 1,079) – 23.0 Miles – Jim's Trek Part IV – 23,007.8 Miles On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning I began my next 6-day set and pedaled 23.0 miles on my Schwinn 170. And today is another milestone day; I have now cycled over 23,000 miles on my Schwinn Fitness cycles. My totals: 23,007.8 miles; 37,027.5 kilometers. I have also completed 92.4% of my overall goal.

Google Maps has me located at SP91, 73059 Ugento LE, Italy today. And my next destination is only 13.0 miles to the southeast.

But for the makers of crayons and colour pencils, the trend also poses a fundamental strategic question: is this boom in demand just a passing fad or a sustainable trend?

As soon as I saw and heard Mr. Trump request his audience… (the Roman aka the Bellamy Salute)… this is something to think about.

The Oath of the Horatii (1786), by Jacques-Louis David

“Variations on the salute also appear in neo-fascist contexts. For example, The Christian Falangist Party, founded in 1985, uses a "pectoral salute," in which the right arm, bent at the elbow, is extended from the heart, palm down. This gesture was used in François Truffaut's 1966 film Fahrenheit 451. The film portrays a futuristic totalitarian society modeled after the fascist state, including black uniforms, book burnings, and thought control.” (Wikipedia, Roman Salute)

Band 3 of 8 completed.  Still looking for a title for this piece.  Final measurements - 60+" by 80+/-".

Untitled as yet - JS AB
