Day 106 – (AD 536) – Jim's Trek Part III – 21.7 Miles – Travelling On in Western Australia on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

On this Father’s Day I cycled once again another 21.7 miles on my Schwinn 170. Total miles now 10,876.3; kilometers 17,503.7. I am currently averaging 20.3 miles daily. Not bad for a 62 ½ year-old.

And still the same scenery on my virtual Trek across Western Australia. I am located on Eyre/National 1 Highway just a little bit northeast of Norseman.

The average median rainfall in the area for June is about 26.1 mm; that’s only 1.03 inches. Don’t forget the point zero 3 inches. That’s dry… I think. (And that factors out to about 10.9 inches a year.)

I just couldn’t help myself, (yeah right), from having that fourth piece of pizza and then that bowl of chocolate fudge ice cream last night… and two tall glasses of limeade. And this morning my fasting blood sugar count jumped up 15 points to 108. Isn't it written someplace that “you bleed what you sow”?

And for a last minute tacky, tacky, sort-of, Father’s Day gift. My question is what happens when they rotate downward in Dad’s cuffs. Somewhere there is a double-entendre. (Available at BaronBob.com.)

Afghan #6 is underway.

If you are reading this blog and just so happen to be somewhere along my route in Australia please feel free to drop me a line at jsmith58@gmail.com. Certainly would welcome it.

Trying to be healthy and keep on pedaling.

Enjoy,

Day 105 – (AD 535) – Jim's Trek Part III – 21.7 Miles – A Forest in Western Australia on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Well it is another day on my Schwinn 170. Today’s miles 21.7. My total to date 10,854.6 miles; 17,468.8 kilometers. My weight is keeping at a constant average of 164 lbs and my average blood sugar is hovering around 96.8 mg/dL since I began my Jim’s Trek III.

I am moving in a westerly direction on the Eyre Highway on my virtual Trek through Western Australia. It looks like I have found myself in a forest, still dry but a forest. And I can definitely forget about spotting a Koala Bear on my current route and location. Accordingly there has none been present in this part of Australia for at least 10,000 years.

And scalpers, as well, are selling tickets for the Joel Osteen Tour… only $850.00. To hear a Christian preacher in an auditorium turned to church meeting place. (Thanks GRS for the note.)

According to Matthew 21:12 (KJV),

“… Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves.”

And pray tell the difference for a $5,000.00 a plate at an itinerant politician’s campaign roast? Which god is each serving? I think I’ll stop in at Jacob’s Pizza.

Work continues on to the finishing of our Tampa Kaleidoscope quilt. I've got to write up some of our completed quilts and wall hangings at Quilts SB. Got to get caught up on our schedule of to-be-done.

Enjoy Father’s Day tomorrow.

Day 104 – (AD 534) – Jim's Trek Part III – 21.7 Miles – Fraser Range Station in Western Australia on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

There is something about an overcast day at home in Florida that I just love. Hello darkness my old friend while Simon and Garfunkel sing on via Pandora. And with the pouring rain, thunder and lightning I have two plus 16 feet on and under my chair at my computer desk.

This morning I cycled another 21.7 miles on my Schwinn 170. My total is now at 10,832.9 miles, 17,433.9 kilometers.

My virtual journey continues on Eyre Highway in Western Australia. I am located at just about the Fraser Range Station which is a pastoral lease and sheep station. Accordingly I am about halfway between Balladonia and Norseman. And now I have about 480 miles remaining to my next destination and goal point.

Nothing new to report about my health as I am currently in a maintenance mode thanks to my diet and exercise on my Schwinn 170. Jim’s Trek III has now clocked 2,215.8 miles in Australia.

The binding has been attached to our new Tampa Kaleidoscope quilt. This is a monster of a quilt 100" by 88".

Definitely a different way of viewing the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

Check up our latest update to our quilt and wall hanging schedule at Quilts SB.

We have begun the workings of a new crocheted afghan, Afghan #6. It is like a freeform design with an OCD twist. I need to practice my knot making and needle use.

I have been watching, as my cycling companion, Season 2 of White Collar. I  am enjoying the total mind muffling experience of this series. (Oh by the way that’s a positive compliment.) It’s sort of like watching a combination Suits, Breaking Bad, and James Bond mini-movie with minimal blood and guts.

Blogger Pageview count – Jim’s Trek = 41,310.

Day 103 - (AD 533) - Jim's Trek Part III - 21.7 Miles - I Can See For Miles and Miles in Western Australia On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning I pedaled 21.7 miles on my Schwinn 170. My total mileage to date recorded 10,811.2 miles; 17,399.0 kilometers.

My journey, the virtual Trek, continues and I keep thinking about the desolation on this Eyre Highway in Western Australia.  Google Maps images certainly does not include much traffic going in either direction.  I would not want to be stranded.

And no I am not looking for to becoming hard of hearing.  I am just interested as I move forward with this life of electronics and the telecommunications revolution.  All I can see is a Ricolla commercial when the dude in leiderhosen is substituted by Siri of iPhone25s fame.

But then I could settle for the compact version, available through Amazon.com.

Our work continues near to the completion of our Tampa Kaleidoscope quilt... And this is one big, big quilt.   Here is an image of the back...  There is a lot of thread in that quilting.

And I just am trying to keep myself healthy.

Enjoy,

Jim

Day 102 – (AD 532) – Jim's Trek Part III – 20.6 Miles – Heading Sort-of North in Western Australia on My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning I struggled through 20.6 miles on my Schwinn 170. And I think this has to do with me feeling exhausted after eating what I ate last night.

I am still on Eyre Highway on my virtual Trek through Western Australia. It appears to me that the road has veered to the north…and the vegetation definitely is still dry. I now have 523 miles to go to get to my next destination and goal point.

Orchids blooming at home today.

Blood sugar spiked up 17 points to 107 after a Brie and grilled onions hamburger with Monster fries and a hand dipped Häagen-Dazs Chocolate milkshake at Burger Monger. Three in the Tampa area and one in Willow Grove, PA.

Not much exciting happening right now. Routine is on the way. I am currently working on our quilting and crocheting schedule. Check Quilts SB shortly for the updates.

Thunderstorm in the distance. Two of four of The Pack in my lap at the computer.
