Day 363 – (AD 793) – 22.2 Miles – Jim's Trek Part III – Machines Have To Be Off On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

All my machines have to off. Either that or it is the Cigar City's Oyster Po'Boy and glass of cider I had for supper last night. My blood sugar jumped 33 points this morning. My weight is up; as are my are my Fat % and BMI.

I've never eaten or attempted an Oyster Po'Boy. I only like smoked oysters and Oysters Rockefeller. The Oyster Po'Boy wasn't bad. Also I started a new inhaler, a test for my allergies. Then again I could need some new batteries. Not me, the machines.

But this morning I did pedal another 22.2 miles on my Schwinn 170.

And no, I am not cycling backwards on my fitness cycle. The Google Map images appear to be going in the opposite direction to where I am going. And hell the road, Gregory Downs - Camooweal Road is not paved. Just red dirt.

I now have 103 miles remaining until my next destination and goal point.

Day 362 – (AD 792) – 22.2 Miles – Jim's Trek Part III – Kiwis On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning I pedaled 22.2 miles on my Schwinn 170. That’s the real part. Totals – 16,450.7 miles; 26,474.9 kilometers.

My virtual journey has me located on the dirt, and I mean dirt, road of Gregory Downs – Camooweal. I now have 125 miles remaining to reach my next destination and goal point.

Danger, Will Robinson, Danger.

Today I ran an errand to one of the Publix grocery stores near my house. I was in the store minding my own business, picking out some bananas in the fruit aisle.

Next thing I knew was that I was being attacked by an elderly lady in a motorized grocery cart. I immediately jumped out of the way. Then crash, the errant driver smashed over a free standing display of Kiwis… not the flightless bird but the fuzzy brown fruit. Kiwis flew all over the place and rolled over the floor… Oh I’m so, sorry was the apology and off she purred down the aisle. I continued my shopping but kept my eyes open for the slow-moving Cruella Deville.

The word for today is hypocrite. Period. U.S News & World Report – Last Call: Ted Cruz Signs Up For Obamacare.  Many Canadians are bilingual.

Day 361 – (AD 791) – 22.2 Miles – Jim's Trek Part III – Dust, Red Dust On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Yes this morning I pedaled once again, 22.2 miles on my Schwinn 170. My totals to date - 16,428.5 miles; 26,439.2 kilometers.

And I am now located, I think, on Gregory Downs-Camooweal Road still heading north in Queensland, Australia. Looks like the paved road is gone. Can’t see for the dust.

And the political campaigns will be dust…so you better get your visors out in order to see clearly for the dirt.

So 10,000 give or take, students at Liberty University are required to attend morning convocation exercises three times a week. A natural at a private ultra-and traditional evangelical Christian school; it is a part of the curriculum.

Skipping a convocation results in student receiving possible reprimands and an out-of-pocket fine. Sort of strict for a “university/college” student… but hell, if an individual
chooses to attend this type of “restrictive-type” of university/college who am I to argue.

But for a politician to use a “forced” attendance as a platform to spin a yarn and announce his candidacy… sounds like this 2016 Presidential campaign is going to be a “better” circus with so, so many damn rings. Just you all be prepared for the ride.

I just found and read a couple of sites that discussed what is overrated and what is underrated when it comes to Sushi.

Did I ever tell you I do love to eat, and have I ever mentioned that I do like Sushi? (And yes I know that the information is published on the Internet.) But this sort of makes sense, sense enough for me to try.

My go-to at any Sushi restaurant is always salmon and tuna. I just love Tuna Tataki as well as Spicy Tuna Rolls. I also always get something with salmon. But according to my reading this morning salmon and tuna may be “Overrated” and “It (salmon) has become both an obligatory and nonsensical menu item.” An underrated on is mackerel. Guess what? My regular orders are going to change…I need to change. But I think I will still skip the uni.

Recollected visions of a teenager me water-skiing and stepping on a black sea urchin…candle wax and a scalpel to my heel.

Day 360 – (AD 790) – 21.7 Miles – Jim's Trek Part III – I’m Just Watching On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning the rainy season has arrived a couple of months early here in Tampa…and I’m not complaining. Just wondering about my 20-foot avocado tree, that I’ve grown from seed, whether it will survive to bear fruit this year. Here’s hoping.

Today I pedaled 21.7 miles on my Schwinn 170. I crossed the 16,400-mile mark at 16,406.3 miles; 26,403.4 kilometers. And I’m still going, this journey still continues.

I am located on the Thorntonia Yelvertoft Road, in Queensland and I’m headed due north. And finally I seem to be following someone on the road. (It appears that the Google Maps mobile camera dudes were headed in the opposite direction when they snapped the image.)

In 5 more days I will have completed a year’s worth of pedaling and traveling virtually in Australia. This is my 360th day of Jim’s Trek Part III.

Well the party has begun to gear up…and we will have to watch and listen to the wasted money of political commercials and braggadocios. Yes I’m using a correct word – Braggadocio: 1. overblown – empty boasting and swaggering self-aggrandizement; and 2. braggart – somebody who boasts in a swaggering self-aggrandizing way. No apologies.

To date 10, that’s right TEN, Republicans have “Declared” their intent to run for President of the USA. Five have “Declined”… and 9 are “Exploring”. The list on The Politics and Governance Portal  is sort of a long one of possible Republican contenders.

On the Democratic side: 5 - “Declared”; 3 – “Declined”; and 2 – “Exploring”. The total list on the Democratic side is long, but not quite as long as the Republican list.

And then again I have found a great accessory to aid deafen the insane decibel clamor of squandered announcement and ad funds. But wait – a pair of Chingogu Ear Plugs.

Wearing these earrings might just serve as a warning to those around you that if they start to bore you with their irritating stories or demands that you file those TPS reports right away, you can block them out within seconds.
But wait...

And my search has begun. It appears that I’ve entered a phase; the “I’m-too-bored-to-cook” phase. I know I love food and I know that I have got to eat, and so I am looking for simple but good recipes that supersede the funk and the complications.

Day 359 – (AD 789) – 21.8 Miles – Jim's Trek Part III – Just Thinking and Pedaling On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

This morning I pedaled another 21.8 miles on my Schwinn 170. I have now clocked 16,384.6 miles; 26,368.5 kilometers. This is the real part.

I am traveling, (this is the virtual part), in a north-westerly direction on Barkly Highway. I have almost reached the intersection of Thorntonia Yelvetoft Road when I will be turning right, north.

Well the craziness is about to begin. Either get out to vote or shut-the-hell-up.

The 2016 Primary schedule should begin January 2016. All dates tentative and subject to change prior to 2016. Calendar.

Tomorrow, according to USA Today, Reports:Ted Cruz to announce presidential run.

Ted Cruz reportedly will announce on Monday that he will seek the presidency, with a campaign that seeks to energize the party's Tea Party and socially conservative wings.

Three words:
SARAH. PALIN. ENDORSEMENT.

Nathan Robinson at Salon wrote – The “Ted Cruz is smart” trap: Why this garbage is false – and dangerous…

In fact, the consistent overgenerous assessment of Cruz’s brains may stem from a deeper problem with the values of the elite legal community. If Newt Gingrich is “a stupid person’s idea of what a smart person looks like,” Ted Cruz is a lawyer’s idea of what a smart person looks like. … A person with one or two core principles, and a ruthless willingness to bend any truth that gets in the way, can do very well for himself at law school. Certainly, this requires skill. But it would be a sad day for the progress of human knowledge if we called it intelligence.

If the loveliest trick of the devil is to convince you he doesn’t exist, the most incontestably brilliant trick of Ted Cruz is to convince you of his incontestable brilliance. There’s no need to keep falling for it.

Day 358 – (AD 788) – 21.9 Miles – Jim's Trek Part III – Continuing On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Bella decided that she was bored with my getting up this morning.

This glorious morning I pedaled 21.9 miles on my Schwinn 170. Totals to date are 16,362.8 miles; 26,333.4 kilometers. I have completed 65.7% of my overall cycling goal.

I am consistent on this crazy journey…but I can honestly say that I am getting bored... again.

I am located on the National Highway A2. Nice thing is that Google Maps have updated their road images.

Today’s snagged image was taken about 3 months ago in Queensland sometime in December of 2014. Yesterday’s road photo was grabbed from about 6 years about. As you can see not much has changed…expect maybe the clarity and/or definition of the newer image.

Crossing my fingers as my blood sugar seems to be heading in a positive downward direction. This morning it registered at 95.

My viewing companion this morning while I pedaled was the beginning of Orphan Black. A very interesting, initially somewhat confusing, sci-fi drama about the idea of cloning.

Initially I thought it was located in London, then in the United States, and then Canada. Confused? I still am…sort of, I think.

And speaking about cloning, see it just may have been the answer that I have been looking for regarding Pokemon.

Always wondered where this cartoon may have originated.  The left - the cartoon.  The right - Sea Slug - Thecacera pacifica.

Political promises are never what they appear.

“A tale of two budget proposals leaves Gov. Rick Scott’s tax cuts, education spending at risk”
– Michael Van Sickler, Miami Herald, March 20, 2015 .

“Less than two months ago, an enthusiastic Gov. Rick Scott, fresh off his reelection victory, unveiled his plan to spend Florida’s $1 billion surplus.

…Now that lawmakers might be facing a potential $1.3 billion hole in the healthcare budget, many of Scott’s once-attainable goals are in sudden limbo as money gets shifted around to cover gaps…"

Day 357 – (AD 787) – 22.2 Miles – Jim's Trek Part III – 2,500 More Miles to Go On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Yes the orchids are still blooming.

Today I pedaled another 22.1 miles on my Schwinn 170. Totals – 16,340.9; 26,298.2 kilometers.

And now I headed in a westerly direction on the National Highway A2. It’s definitely now a paved road.

I am 234 miles or about 10 days from my next destination and goal point. All-things-being-equal I have about 2,500 more miles remaining in my Jim’s Trek Part III.

Something that has me a wee bit dumbfounded. I have been using Carbonite services to back-up my hard-drive from the early days of its beginnings. I just received an informative email that since subscribing I have backed up a total of 1,167,105 files. Say what? No wonder it takes me time to search my databases. And this does not include my cumulative blog postings.

Guess I’m going to have to buy, for only $2.80 a Yotsuba – Driving Advanced Age Mark for myself… A Law in Japan requires that “After you’ve been around for more than half a century and your life experience outweighs your body’s ability to function, it’s time for you to put the Advanced Age Mark on your car…”

“If you see this mark on a car, you have to be prepared for potentially awkward driving, like having your turn blinker on without actually turning.” I think this is definite consideration for Florida.

And yes I like food…but Baked Potato Kit Kat, Soy Sauce Kit Kat, or Wasabi Kit Kat? I don’t think so.

Day 356 – (AD 786) – 21.6 Miles – Jim's Trek Part III – Speaking Up On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Today I slowed down a bit and only pedaled 21.6 miles on my Schwinn 170. I have now completed just over 65% of my overall cycling goal.

On my virtual journey this morning I cycled northward through the city of Mount Isa; population including surrounding area of approximately 55,000. I am located on the National Highway A2, also known as Barkly Highway just about southwest of the artificial Lake Moodarra.

And guess what? The road is paved.

This morning I’m coughing like an off-key Greek fog horn. Και ο γιατρός μου έχει ένα κοκτέιλ από τα φάρμακά που έχει το κεφάλι μου σε ένα βαμβάκι-καραμέλα σύννεφα ..

Question – Why do individuals who are in the “supposed throes” of their own search for a meaning of their lives feel that they are required to impose their idiosyncratic ideologies upon others.

A very good formula to waking up fast… bloody, damn fast.

While showering take one Loofah and, and, and scuttle a spider out from one of those three mini-tunnels.

Question – What exactly is the sun protecting its eyes from?

This morning my blood sugar count registered another reduction down to 93. Damn I really like my experiment, Faux Pho last night. (Yes, images will soon be available on Jim’s Gotta Eat – http://jimsgottaeat.com.)

Day 355 – (AD 785) – 22.1 Miles – Jim's Trek Part III – Diamantina Developmental Road On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Today I pedaled 22.1 miles on my Schwinn 170. My totals are now – 16,297.1 miles; 26,227.7 kilometers.

I am now located headed north on Diamantina Developmental Road in Queensland. I cycled to the “X” on the above inserted map. The green route is the Diamantina Developmental Road. And the image below from Google Maps was taken about April 2008.

And according to my calculations I have about 27% of my journey remaining on the continent of Australia. To date, as a measure of Jim’s Trek Part III I have completed 7,680.0 miles; 12,359.8 kilometers.

Just taking it easy today. Forgot my annual reporting, not the tax ones the other papers, and am now trying to get them done. If I do not have a date, an item or appointment on my Calendar I can almost guarantee that I will forget and/or not remember it. The days of cerebral remembering are long time gone.

Reported January 20, 2015 – Per Scott Powers in the Orlando Sentinel

“Gov. Rick Scott on Tuesday proposed a $470 million cut to a state tax that consumers pay on cellphones, land lines and TV services.

The Governor's Office said a family spending $100 a month on cellphones and cable or satellite TV would save about $43 annually from the reduction… Scott's tax-cutting proposals are coming at a time when state legislators are expected to have a budget windfall of about $1 billion even after paying for increased school enrollment and setting aside money for reserves.

But Scott also has promised to increase per-student funding in the state's public schools. There will likely be a push to boost spending on the state's prison system and environmental programs.”

And then yesterday, March 17, 2015, Brandon Larrabee of the News Service of Florida reported as found on SaintPetersBlog by Peter Schorsch

“House budget writers unveiled an education spending plan … that would provide public schools with almost $47 less per student than Scott proposed, and a key senator said his chamber was also unlikely to meet the governor’s number when a Senate blueprint is released.

The two developments cast increasing doubt on one of Scott’s chief priorities only two weeks into the 60-day legislative session. … The difference would amount to almost $78.3 million less statewide than Scott’s proposal. …”

So if I do a quick math calculation, cell phone users in the State will receive an annual reimbursement of $43 on one hand but on the other hand funding for each Florida student will be reduced by $47. Where did the $4 go? Is this an example of the new Common Core curriculum or is this, Governor Scott, the classic example of robbing Peter to pay Paul to rob everyone else?

Day 354 – (AD 784) – 22.0 Miles – Jim's Trek Part III – A Little Green On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

And if you’re green, Happy St. Patrick’s Day.

This allergy, (I think), thing is getting me down. I have to figure this one out because I will not allow it to become my central focus of conversation. Even red dirt is much more interesting than my medical ailments.

This morning I cycled another 22.0 miles on my Schwinn 170. Totals – 16,275.0 miles; 26,192.1 kilometers. I seem to have been stuck on pedaling 22.0 miles daily for the past number of days. Not sure why, but I do know that as I am hitting close to that target I think that something within, is just keeping me at that daily goal.

This morning I have now completed 7,657.9 miles; 12,324.2 kilometers on my journey through my fantasy Australia. I am currently located, headed in a north eastern direction, on the National Route 83.

From my calculations I now have 300 miles to go to reach my next destination and goal point. This will be my 14th, out of 18 destinations that I initially targeted to be a part of Jim’s Trek III. Of course this is not a steadfast number and I could just change my directions at a given notice.

And Florida’s worse news thus far in 2015 – according to the Ocala Star Banner – Almost $85,000 Worth of Mozzarella Was Stolen in Florida This Weekend.…

Questions – How could the police not have any leads when “multiple tons of shredded mozzarella…” goes missing? Where does one hide “multiple tons of shredded mozzarella”?

Last night’s supper was Cambodian Pork Belly and Collard Greens with Mushrooms, and a salad of Japanese Cucumbers. I did take some images and I’ll be writing up my madness at Jim’s Gotta Eat shortly. (http://jimsgotta.eat.com)

Day 353 – (AD 783) – 22.0 Miles – Jim's Trek Part III – Well More Red Dirt On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

And again another 22.0 miles on my Schwinn 170. Totals are 16,253.0 miles; 26,156.7 kilometers.

My virtual journey this morning looks like the outline of Florida…in Queensland, Australia…before the waters.

I am located on National Route 83, the Diamantina Developmental Radd, Waverley, Queensland, Australia. And the red dirt is back again.

Just thinking if the schools in Dardanelle, Arkansas teach creationism I wonder if the curriculum includes that “Tehran, today’s capital of Iran, has a legendary history that goes back to Sheath (or Seth/Sheth Adam’s son)”. Or not?

Got some paperwork to attend to.
