Day 256 – (AD 1,161) – 23.6 Miles – Jim's Trek Part IV – And Now France On My Schwinn 170
Good Day,
Two points to make, as I continue to hack and sputter with this sinus infection. 1. Doctor cleared me of the possibility of pneumonia. Lungs are clear. Good news. 2. I am still able to pedal.
Yesterday I wrote that I was puzzled that even though my calculations stated that I had only one pedaling day left in my crazy trek and journey, I actually have 1.36 days remaining. Today is the next to last day…according to the formatting of decimals.
This morning I pedaled 72 minutes on my Schwinn 170 and I clocked 23.6 miles. My totals are now at 24,897.9 miles; 40,069.4 kilometers. And now I have less than 5.0 miles remaining.
And this morning I completely changed my heading at Geneva, Switzerland. I am now headed in a northeasterly direction and I crossed over to France.
Continuing on, I am now located at Route de Longchaumois, 39310 Lamoura, France.
Tomorrow I complete the Jim’s Trek Part IV. And yes there will be a virtual ribbon and a virtual crowd cheering me as I cross my finish line…
Yes it will be an amazing new era when a woman finally breaks through the glass ceiling, stands at the portico, walks through the doors at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington and proudly accepts the title as President of the United States of America.
Reading for today - "The most thorough, profound and moving defense of Hillary Clinton I have ever seen" as relayed by NewDealer at Daily Kos, June 11, 2016.
This is my 1,263rd post. According to Blogger Jim’s Trek has recorded, as of this writing, 96,321 Pageviews.

Day 99 – (AD 1,004) – 23.1 Miles – Jim's Trek Part IV – On My Schwinn 170
Good Day,
Today I pedaled another 23.1 miles on my Schwinn 170. Grand totals - 21,269 miles; 34,229.2 kilometers.
I’ve turned to the west. I am located at A10 Genova - Ventimiglia, 16158 Genova, Italy. Yes I know, it truly does not look like stationary cycles can sit on this highway.

And now that I have created my No-Knead bread habit I’m thinking about another habit. I’m thinking of miniature muffins. Hell, why not?
Work on Shush CK is moving quite quickly. The fabric for our Hoffman Challenge has arrived. Thread has been ordered. Trying something new as usual in these two new projects. Examining wing scales. Need to update our project list and itemize what and when to target.
Had to take my PC in for its 6-month check up and clean-out. Not to soon. Had a small crash last night and the crunching from a disk drive certainly did not sound too, too healthy.
This is my 1,083rd post. According to Blogger Jim’s Trek has recorded, as of this evening, 80,998 Pageviews.
I welcome comments or thoughts or ideas. Please feel free to contact, email me at Jim’s Trek. (This link is my email address.)

Just read this…
And The Pack just likes the warmth of December 6th, 2015.

Day 97 – (AD 1,002) – 24.4 Miles – Jim's Trek Part IV – Italy On My Schwinn 170
Good Late Afternoon,
Yes I pedaled this morning on my Schwinn 170, (how could I forget). I cycled another 24.4 miles. Totals – 21,222.8 miles; 34,154.9 kilometers.
I am now traveling, what appears to be north, in Italy. I am currently located at Via Pineo, 180, Albenga SV. To the right is the water, after what I believe are tracks.
My next destination and goal point is about 60 miles in about this direction.
Errands and house-keeping today. My mind is on the mop.
Just wondering when and if representatives of the extreme right would be considering martial law…
Tonight’s supper made early this morning – Chicken Stew Provençal with fresh Sourdough Bread (#65).
This is my 1,081st post. According to Blogger Jim’s Trek has recorded, as of this evening, 80,899 Pageviews.

Day 96 – (AD 1,001) – 23.5 Miles – Jim's Trek Part IV – France, Monaco, Then Italy On My Schwinn 170
Good Day,
On my 1,001st day of pedaling I cycled another 23.5 miles on my Schwinn 170. My totals are now 21,198.4 miles; 34,115.6 kilometers.
I still have 14.9% of my complete goal to finish. Should take me about 185, give or take, more days. I know I can, I know I can.
I made it to my 22nd destination and goal point of my Trek, Monaco.
And this morning I crossed over from France and reached Italy.
I am located at Pista Ciclabile del Parco Costiero della Riviera dei Fiori, 18038 Sanremo IM, Italy.
Jim’s Trek Part IV has now allowed me to travel through Portugal, Spain, Gibraltar, Andorra, and Monaco to Italy.
Only in Google on a Schwinn 170.

We’ve started a new full-size quilt. It’s a secret.
And I noticed some dropped orchid blossoms this morning when I opened up the house.
I’ve been having some issues with Goggle Blogger and my Jim’s Trek Blog this past week. Not sure what is happening when it my blog up and disappears. Blogger Help is beyond me, and it has got me thinking on possibly considering WordPress. Thoughts?

Day 95 – (AD 1,000) – 23.7 Miles – Jim's Trek Part IV – Yeah, 1,000 Days Pedaling On My Schwinn Fitness Cycles
Good Day,
This is my 1,000th day pedaling on my Schwinn Fitness cycles.
Today on my Schwinn 170 I cycled 23.7 miles. One could say that after 3 years I've created another habit. And I had to keep telling that little red JKLS, who sits on my left shoulder, that I could and would do it.
My grand totals – 21,174.9 miles; 34,077.8 kilometers.
This morning I am located at 1493-2287 Route de la Moyenne Corniche, 06320 Cap-d'Ail, France.
I am 1.4 miles from my next destination and goal point. I never thought I would see this place in my dreams…even though I shall accept my virtual dreams, in my imagination.
My word for today is “imagination”.
The faculty or action of forming new ideas, or images or concepts of external objects not present to the senses; the ability of the mind to be creative or resourceful.
A headline of The News Courier of Athens, Alabama caught my eye – “Church stages drive-thru Nativity” (by Adam Smith – no relationship). “Nativity scenes are commonplace in homes, businesses and churches during the Christmas season, but an Athens church is providing an opportunity to experience the story of Jesus' birth from the comfort of your vehicle.”
And guess what this is not a unique. Cromwell, Kentucky; Chesapeake, Virginia; Nashville, Tennessee; Erie, Pennsylvania; Livermore, California; et al.
Flash backward in time, shepherds and wise men on feet, riding camels and donkeys, not necessarily in that order are now back-to-the-future driving Honda SUVs, Mercedes, and school buses, and of course, taxis… I’m just trying to keep things in some sort of perspective.
And No-Knead Loaf #64 is out of the oven and ready to be sliced. Just 2 more loaves to go and I will have created a true-to-form, (say what?), JKLS habit.
This is my 1,080th post. According to Blogger Jim’s Trek has recorded, as of this evening, 80,772 Pageviews.

Day 94 ½ – (AD 999 ½) – 0.0 Miles – Jim's Trek Part IV – On the 8th Day I Rest
Good Day,
Today is the 8th day and I rest my legs. Today I pedal 0, zero, naught, Ø, zip miles. This is my 999½ day of 1,096 days. In 3 years I have rested 97 days.
First there are the unsolicited emails for Russian wives. Then I was getting notices that my new Subaru, with my old one for trade-in, was ready for me. (I’ve never owned a Subaru.) The exponential growth of the ridiculous spam email just keeps growing. There seems to be a wane of the unknown and childless wealthy uncle in Timbuctoo leaving me 6.7 million £-sterling. I wonder if there is an equivalent green reduction in the Internetland.
And then someone out there must think I have either a truly disjointed green thumb as I received an email advertisement for “Rare Corpse Flower Plants”. Do I truly want to by an Amorphophallus Titanum (Corpse Flower) seedling?
(And I am sure that someone is being polite with the translation from the Greek…)
I am sure my Homeowners Association would appreciate if I planted in my front garden a plant which “A long spadix emerges from the top of the pod and can make the entire bloom more than six feet tall. Finally, the bloom opens in mid-afternoon. The odor of rotting flesh is released in bursts every 30 seconds or so to attract flies and beetles into the gaping vase of the bloom.”
Fluid is the most recent media word. It appears that a number of journalists are using the word “fluid” to indicate an ongoing situation. I am trying to understand how this word when used as an adjective and defined as “(of a substance) able to flow easily” has anything relevant to do with a news-breaking story that is currently in progress. The noun definition is “a substance that has no fixed shape and yield easily to external pressure; a gas or (especially) a liquid.” Question, how does the use and incorporation of this word explain the lack of understanding of any newsworthy publication?
Supper last night was Daikon and Turnip Curry on Coconut Rice. I surprised myself. It was good. I expected one thing and the taste was quite pleasant. I found the recipe, which I adjusted of course at Early Morning Farm.com.
Now I love jerky…most types. It is my go-to snack food. I’m not saying that I could survive on jerky but I do like jerky. Beef jerky made from filet-mignon? Okay, a bit ostentatious, to the taste buds. But hey there Willy Wonka here’s the ploy. Find a 24 karat edible gold jerky in three random bags from Three Jerks Jerky, up until December 20th and win.

Good Day,
When does 999 Days = 3 Years?
Three years ago I began this crazy Trek. I have now pedaled, including today, 999 days on my Schwinn Fitness cycles. This morning I cycled 24.5 miles on my Schwinn 170. And in 999 days I have pedaled a total of 21,151.2 miles; 34,039.6 kilometers.
Yes that’s right, I am averaging 21.17 miles each day.
And this morning I reached my next destination and goal point, Cannes, #21. (Yes I know I am, virtually, turned in the opposite direction.)
I am now located at 41-45 Avenue de Cannes, 06160 Antibes, France. And I have now completed 84.9% of my overall journey and Trek. Wonder where I will get in the remaining 15.1%.
Interesting article, Giving Up Is The Enemy of Creativity, Brian J. Lucas and Loran Nordgren (Harvard Business Review, Dec. 1, 2015)
And this morning I took a short survey, Hacking Creativity, to determine where my creative brain is most at home… Accordingly my creative style bridges 2 different groups. Classifications include: Collaborative Extrovert – 17%; Novelty-Seeking Naturalist – 13%; Non-Kinetic Urban Introvert – 12%; Private Monotasker – 11%...et al. And now I have to figure out what all this means?
Yes I do I have a sick sense of humor.
This is my 1,078th post. According to Blogger Jim’s Trek has recorded, as of this evening, 80,656 Pageviews.

"But creative ideas take time. They are often generated after an initial period of thinking deeply about the problem, considering different ways to frame the problem, and exploring different possible solution paths."

Good Day,
Today I pedaled another 23.5 miles on my Schwinn 170. (And of course you knew that I would not change my opening line.)

This morning I reached my 20th goal and destination point, Saint-Tropez.
Thank you, Davis Gaines. Thank you, Jerry Herman – Song on the Sand, La Cage Aux Folles. Thank you, Harvey Fierstein. Merci, Jean Poiret.
I then boarded a ferry at Saint-Tropez north to Sainte-Maxime. I continued north to Saint-Raphaël.
I am, according to Google Maps, now located at 17 Impasse des Oiseaux Bleus, 83700 Saint-Raphaël, France. But the image to the left which appears when I use the little Google-man is 1017 Route de la Corniche. Google rules...both in our reality and in our virtual worlds.

Day 92 – (AD 997) – 24.0 Miles – Jim's Trek Part IV – Another Month On My Schwinn 170
Good Day,
This morning I pedaled 24.0 miles on my Schwinn 170. Totals – 21,103.2 miles; 33,962.4 kilometers. And another month and another hurricane season gone by.
According to Google Maps I am located at D61, 83310 Grimaud, France.
November 30 - Date to remember –
In 1707 the 2nd siege of Pensacola comes to an end with the British failure to capture Pensacola, Florida from the Spanish. Just wondering who was here first, after the original Native Americans, of course.
And notably, Lucille Ball married Desi Arnaz in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Just something to think about…
