Day 104+40 – (AD 1,266) – 20.5 Miles – Jim’s Trek Part V – On My Schwinn 170

Good Day,

Merry Little Christmas to you. Yes, January 6th is the Feast of the Epiphany, it is the supposed day that the Magi, the wise men brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the baby Jesus.

And I remember celebrating this day growing up at home. And so, I keep up the few decorations at my house until the day after or January 7th. That’s the day that I close and finish the Holiday season.

My questions are why do so, so many people, as it appears, have already removed all indications of Holiday spirit and the idea of the possible real degrees of the celebrations of the season from the exterior of their homes? Those who are so, so entrenched in the proselytizing of their “Christian” faith and imposing their “dictums” are quick to box away their “commercial” decorations and indication in favor of carefully labeled boxed away storage until next year the day after Thanksgiving.  Have they been so, so caught up with the commercialism of the times and are now reading their decorations for St. Valentine's Day?

This morning I pedaled 20.5 miles on my Schwinn 170. Totals are 26,974.1 miles; 43,410.7 kilometers.

I have now completed 58.1% of the distance to my next destination and goal point.

I am ready to scream… I have been on the telephone since 4:00 pm yesterday evening and 8:30 am this morning. I just need to scream.

And I thought everything was going well, after a few hiccups, with my status as an active employee on LTD to a retired disabled person. Was I wrong!

First, because the insurance companies involved in a minor car accident that happened in 2015 have not submitted to Medicare paperwork to close the case I cannot be reclassified by Medicare as retired.

Second, the incorrect switch was submitted to Medicare that I am not disabled. Medicare is registering the fact that I am “work capable” therefore they, Medicare will not cover any medical paperwork because of my new status…which of course, is completely incorrect.

And everyone kept passing me from one phone number to the next to the next to the next. I feel like Macbeth as he is victim to the witches’ forth telling. And right now, my health benefits. which have been the best and fine for the last 16 years, are completely screwed up. I thought the days of retirement are supposed to issue in the hours of relaxation and leisure??? Bullshit!

And 3 more Cranes have been constructed and added. This one will be a long, long journey.

These are #s 64, 65, 66, and 67. Yes, there are a lot of Cranes.

Maybe they will all be finished when the health benefit issues are finally ironed out… It has only been 16 years; what’s another 16 more?
