Day 65 – Jim’s Trek – The Continuum

Good Day,

This morning my Trek on my Schwinn 150 veers to the east at Bowling Green, Kentucky. I am currently, at my 19.5 mile mark on the Louisville Road toward River Place Avenue. Total to date 950.6 miles. There about 71 miles to my next goal… Should do that in about four days.

House next door had a meeting. Wonder why the John-Crows keep congregating on this street?

Last night I had a craving for Shrimp Scampi with Linguini… Didn’t have any linguini in the house but I had all the other ingredients and a half box of spaghetti. Flat versus round, still tastes the same, and even as I am not a pasta connoisseur it tasted quite good… and satisfied my yearning. I was so hungry that I didn’t take a picture of the dish, but here’s what it looked like sort of, thanks to The Family Kitchen.

New series – The Continuum – Law and Order meets Jules Verne’s The Time Machine meets Total Recall meets Judge Dredd. And of course, gang warfare meets terrorists. The year is 2076 and then it is 2012 and takes place in Vancouver, British Columbia. On the SyFy network and kept my interest, and supposedly there are a tentative 23 episodes. Bingo…

Work continues on Blumish Two. 30 of 49 blocks completed. Stay tuned for updates.

Be healthy and enjoy,

Jim

Day 64 – Jim’s Trek – 19.5 Miles – I’m Looking For My Kentucky Home

Good Day,

On Day 64 I am now have cycled into the State of Kentucky. I am on the Veterans’ Memorial Highway and headed in a northerly direction. I’m just about Johnson Road. This morning my Trek led me through Scottsville, Kentucky.

Today I’ve racked up on my Schwinn 150 931.1 miles.

My stats this morning –

Total Direct Miles to Seattle   To Date TD Miles Remaining   % TD Miles Completed   Interlake Miles Left to Seattle   Weight (lbs)
3,301.0 931.1 2,369.9 28.21% 5,068.2 165.4

And of course Tampa Fox wants to know… Damn, they don’t miss a thing. Fox Tampa is now asking if the delay at the Superbowl could happen in Tampa at the Raymond James Stadium. Why do they, that is Fox News, believe that Tampa needs to be on par with disasters and pseudo-disasters around the world?

And then they had the audacity to immediately follow with a report that Tampa Electric Company is asking for a rate change. They want more money for the power.

Supper last night was Sous-vide sirloin steak, a scallop of potatoes, and a mix of carrots, onions, shallots, and peas. First time I’ve ever attempted a potato scallop with extremely paper-thin sliced potatoes parboiled in milk and topped with Gruyère cheese.

Today’s episode of Upstairs, Downstairs dealt with a plethora of women’s issues that are touched on in 1939. And then I discovered that a continuation of the new series of Upstairs Downstairs, as of April 2012, was not renewed. Damn! Now I have to find a video companion. Any suggestions?

Working on Blumish Two and Cosmos’ Moon. Interesting work and both different as night from day. Check out our updates at Quilts SB.

Be healthy, and enjoy,

Jim

Day 63 – Jim’s Trek – You Would Think They’d Pay The Electric Bill

Good Day,

At the prices and cost of running a Super Bowl one would think that the excuse “The check is in the mail” would have at least kept the lights on during the third quarter. And they are blaming Beyonce… I would venture that all the 60” home flat screens may have been the extra draw. Even the Westmoreland Eagle Stadium was blacked out.

My Trek today has increased 0.4 miles closer to my ultimate daily goal. This morning I cycled 19.5 on my Schwinn 150. And this morning I pass the 900 mile mark; total to date 911.6… and I thought I wouldn’t last.

My location is now just shy of the Tennessee Kentucky state line. I am somewhere north of Westmoreland, Tennessee on US-231 N/US-31E N. My scenery is road and guard rail, grassy hills and trees; a nice quiet road.

And today, February 4th is Liberace Day. Guess I’ll put on my Kicks and sit at the piano…

Last night’s supper was not bad… okay by my standards. Red Thai Chicken Curry with Japanese yams and cabbage accompanied by Oat Rice, aka Groats. Added a bread, tomato, and spinach salad.

This morning Upstairs, Downstairs episode with the pending war with Germany visualized a number of plots of rescuing from the foreboding disaster. One of the embedded stories brought me to quiet tears of thoughts of the cruelty of crazed megalomaniacs.

Enjoy,

Jim

Day 62 – Jim’s Trek – Schwinn on Super Bowl Day

Good Day,

Today is Super Bowl 2013. My question – Which has greater market share the actual bowl or the commercials? I wonder the actual net financial outcomes of both compared.

It is too cold outside today… and yes, I have become a wuss when it comes to temperature. Right now it is 46° F and the sky is clear. But the cold in Tampa, Florida goes right through and chills every thread and fiber of your body.

This morning I cycled from the Sparta Pike to Hunters Point Pike, Tennessee. And then I went through Lebanon. My position is just shy of Robertson Lane. Another coincidence? And nice peaceful country road. I’m now about 24 miles to the state line.

I burned 500 calories this morning on my Schwinn 150 which is my equivalent of 19.1 miles. And I’m still maintaining my weight at 168 pounds. I’ve dropped a grand total of 4.2 pounds from the day I began my Trek.

Check out Mars One. Their Roadmap is to have four persons on Mars in 2023. That is only 10 years away. I can see myself on my Schwinn 150 setting my subsequent goal as Mars at 71. Add it to my Bucket List.

This morning’s episode of Upstairs, Downstairs, World War II is on the horizon. A number of new characters are introduced for this second season.

Today’s no-knead bread is rising. I’m trying 16 hours. Not a big deal to combine the ingredients; 3 cups flour; 1 ½ teaspoons salt; ½ teaspoon yeast, and 1 ½ cups lukewarm water. Mix and let leave to rise. Definitely a savings for a new loaf of bread each day.

Be healthy, and enjoy,

Jim

Day 61 – Jim’s Trek – 19.0 Miles – Watertown, TN

Good Day,

Nineteen miles takes me west of Watertown on the Sparta Pike. It certainly is a small location on the map.  Only 194 more miles to my next Interlake address goal. This time it seems that the Trek on my Schwinn 150 is taking forever. There’s only 4,003.3 miles thereabouts to complete my overall Interlake Trek. I think I’m bonkers.

I’m getting stressed out cause I seem to be dithering in finding something to do. I always need to have something in the make. I can’t relax… and I need a good book.

And today February 2 is Crêpe Day… not pancakes but the thin French-style crêpes. Maybe for dessert. And it is time to take another attempt at my bread making, obviously the no knead style.

Upstairs, Downstairs – Behind Closed Doors presents an insight into the new Upstairs Downstairs. It’s not a continuation of the family more of an elaboration of the history of 165 Eaton Place.

I picked up my fresh produce from Urban Oasis yesterday. The produce looks great as does all the growing crops at the hydroponic and organic farm. Supper last night – Potato and pea soup, spiced with Garam Masala, Cumin, Ground Coriander, Salt and Pepper, Onion, Garlic, Cilantro, Yogurt… and of course my St. Elizabeth’s bread. The weight I lost through my bout of the Norovirus seems to be edging up slightly.

Be healthy on this Super weekend, and enjoy,

Jim

Day 60 – Jim’s Trek – 19.0 Miles – Still Going Strong

Good Day,

Today’s 19.0 miles has me stopped somewhere on the Nashville Highway just west of North Driver Road. I’m headed west. It is a cold crisp and sunny day… in Tampa, and the weather at Smithville, Tennessee, which I passed earlier on is a brisk, clear and sunny 20° F. That’s -7° below 0° Celsius. (Think I’ll stay in Tampa on my Schwinn 150.)

I am about 60 miles east of Nashville. My Trek will take a northern turn when I reach Lebanon. My total miles to date, on this celebration of completing two months on my Schwinn 150, are 854.0 miles. And I have successfully accomplished just over 25% of my original Tampa to Seattle Trek goal.

I know where my next Interlake address goal is located, and I’m headed in that direction. I’m now on the search for the next.

My stats –

Total Direct Miles to Seattle   To Date TD Miles Remaining   % TD Miles Completed   Interlake Miles Left to Seattle   Weight (lbs)
3,301.0 854.0 2,447.0 25.87% 5,145.3 166.6

Today is Wear Red day, as I am sitting at my PC with my red sweatshirt on… keeping me warm. Wearing red is to show support for the awareness of heart disease.

Upstairs, Downstairs – A death, a relocation, an abdication, a birth, a return, a discovery, a Christmas tree.

Be healthy, and enjoy,

Jim

Day 59 – Jim’s Trek – 19.0 Miles – Chopped

Good Day,

Today is the end of the 2nd month. I increased my morning mileage to 19.0. I am targeting in on my top daily goal of 20.0 miles per day. I’m now on the Smithville Highway, north of McMinnville, Tennessee. Again happenstance, I thought of setting up an ancillary goal of hitting as many Smith locations along the way, but I figured that I truthfully do not have an additional 150 years.

Radar is not too impressed.

I’m at the intersection of Smithville Highway and Vandagriff Road headed north to Smithville. Just wondering if any of the Google Maps road images show a snow covering. Right now the outside temperature at my Tennessee location is 33° F On my Schwinn 150 it is now a pleasant 72° F.

For supper last night I attempted a Chopped meal entrée. Ingredients - grouper fillets, squid ink pasta, roasted red peppers, Thai chilies, and frozen green peas. Kitchen was a mess, but supper dish tasted good with a slice of St. Elizabeth bread. My way of consuming those half used and leftover ingredients sitting in the pantry and refrigerator...

MJ and Bubba Tampa circus fiasco is finally over... Where the hell do shock jocks have their grey matter implanted to have the lame brained audacity to use tax-payers' monies to purportedly attempt to boost their market share and listening audience?  The should both enroll at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College.  Wanna-be Bozos.

Upstairs Downstairs episode this morning provides a number of starts to a number of stories and plot-lines. The show is providing the typical tell-tale attraction that keeps an audience coming back for more. I wonder how, we have always been enamored with cliff-hangers. Upstairs Downstairs is my morning fare, Downton Abbey for the PM.

And my Trek continues.

Be healthy and enjoy,

Jim

Day 58 – Jim’s Trek – 18.5 Miles – St. Elizabeth – It’s A Pass

Good Day,

Yes, I completed another 18.5 miles of my Schwinn 150 this morning. Another new goal completed and I have reached over 800 miles. My total to date - 816.0 miles. I have found my secret to my “stick-to-it-ness”, small goals, almost daily. I am keeping my mind on the progress of the journey and not the actual finish. I’ll get there when I get there.

This morning my location is at Harrison Ferry and Wash Robert Roads in Tennessee. I’ve just passed Larry’s ATV & Cycle shop. Wonder if my Schwinn 150 may now need a tune up?

I am now just over 250 miles from my next Interlake goal location.

I had a visitor last night as I was pulling a new freshly baked loaf of bread out of the oven. St. Elizabeth dropped by to pay a quick survey of the kitchen. It definitely smelled of a bakery and I am pleased with the latest batch of no knead bread. I felt it proper to offer St. Elizabeth a token slice of warm rustic bread, she being the patron saint of bakers, but she declined, smiled, and disappeared in a puff of flour.

My new serial companion this morning on my Trek is the recent release of Upstairs Downstairs. The first series ended in 1975. This new one premiered December 2010. 165 Eaton Place is reopened six years after the first one ended. The new year is 1936 and Rose, the former housemaid, has returned.

My cardiologist gave me the thumbs up this morning. Everything is still in place and he seemed pleased with my results and the effects of my Trek.

Andy and I are working on two quilts at the moment, Blumish Two and Cosmos’ Moon. Both these two new quilts will be something new and definitely something different. You’ll have to stay tuned to check out the progress on these two.

And we just received notice that our three quilts and wall hangings: Colored Windows II; Coral Steps; and MEM911 have all been accepted for entry and display at the upcoming International Quilt Festival of Ireland in Galway, Ireland… We have gone international. Check Quilts SB for details shortly.

Oh, Mark, I passed Cleveland about 100 miles back… Maybe on the return trip home.

Be healthy and enjoy,

Jim

Day 57 – Jim’s Trek – 18.5 Miles – Inspiration In Tennessee

Good Day,

My Trek continues this morning and I complete my 18.5 miles. I am located somewhere in Tennessee headed northwest on TN-111/TN-8, toward Mountain View Road.

I was wondering of the Google employees who traverse this world with the cameras mounted on their vehicle. Might be a reasonable type occupation. This morning’s 2009 image is nice crisp one of the road and surroundings. The black patterns on the tar top reminds of quilt artist, Joe Cunningham.

My next Interlake address goal is about 270 miles north and I am headed that way. I’ve got 2,503.5 miles, of my original Tampa to Seattle goal to go.

A favorite Chinese delivery establishment closed down much to our chagrin. Luckily I learned a number of years ago, in about 1976, to throw a wok on the stove… thank you Mr. Rose… and have been able to turn out a relatively good substitute. The other night I decided I needed some chicken and bok choy. As stir-frying is such a quick process, the big deal is the mise-en-place, making sure that everything is prepped and ready to go. The cooking, takes a couple of minutes… and then supper is ready.

My Upstairs, Downstairs spin-off, Thomas & Sarah ended its 13th episode, and first season… with a proverbial cliffhanger. I just discovered that there had been planned a second season but due to an ITV strike in 1979 it was not released. Somewhere in the depths of video-land there are at least four more episodes. A Cannon buried in Flowers.

Now back to working on my new quilt wall hanging design, Cosmos’ Moon.

Be healthy, and enjoy,

Jim

Day 42 – Jim’s Trek – Another Goal – 18.0 Miles

Good Day,

Another targeted goal reached in my Trek. I cycled 18.0 miles this morning; total to date 579.3.

This morning the road location is GA-87 N/US-23 N. Just ahead is a Best Buy Convenience Store at GA-83, Concord Road. I need breakfast. Certainly not one of them there Best Buy franchises…

Two more days and I reach my next Interlake address goal. This will be my 8th Interlake address. If I was cycling directly from Tampa to the 8th address, the Google distance would be a total of 426 miles. Considering the seven previous goals my total mileage for this part of my Schwinn 150 journey will equal 613.3 miles.

And today is Rubber Duckie’s birthday…

Found a new serial to watch in the comfort of my Trek; Thomas & Sarah. This new show is a spin-off from Upstairs, Downstairs. First episode re-introduces the characters. It appears that both Thomas and Sarah are dreamers; flim-flam characters. This spin-off followed four years after the close of the original Upstairs, Downstairs.

Enjoy,

Jim

Day 41 – Jim's Trek - 17.6 Miles – I Need A New Drive-In Serial

Good Day,

Today’s Trek mileage on my Schwinn 150 equaled another 17.6 miles. It took me one hour and three minutes. I want to increase my daily mileage to 18.0 miles per day and decrease my time to one hour… Stamina and time. I have now clocked 17.0% of my Tampa to Seattle goal.

I’m on Riverside Drive and I-75 north of Macon, Georgia. There’s a Toyota and Lexus dealership on my left and I’m heading to cycle just under the Interstate. The construction shown in the Google image is from May 2012. I wonder if the road work has been completed, as of today?

My stats -

Total Direct Miles to Seattle   To Date TD Miles Remaining   % TD Miles Completed   Interlake Miles Left to Seattle   Weight (lbs)
3,301.0 561.3 2,739.7 17.00% 5,438.0 175.2

The Russian brides are coming… The Russian brides are coming… The spammers are really at it… if the junk emails are not about extensions or vitality, they are about foreign bridal connections. In all cases, LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

I did put on a couple of pounds yesterday. I want to think that it is muscle… but my appetite was ravenous. Lunch at German Bistro on South MacDill Avenue… Sausages, potato pancakes, apple sauce, sour cream, sauerkraut and apple streusel. Obviously I cleaned my plates. Quaint rustic place and very nice attentive service.

And for supper I deep fried spiced rubbed Pork Belly, roasted Kapocha Squash, and re-created the dish of Asian Sautéed Cauliflower. I am still sort-of befuddled with the first step of the recipe; Cut cauliflower florets into quarters and let sit for at least 5 minutes to bring out their health-promoting properties. I’m just wondering at what point I will be “in-tune” with the cauliflower? Must be the isothicyanates and biotin. Beyond me, of course… I just thought the ginger and soya sauce was a nice added touch.

Meeting today of our Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) Florida Pod 3. Check out the SAQA website. Our next meeting will be April 13, 2013 at The Aqua Restaurant at Westin Hotel at Rocky Point on the Courtney Campbell Causeway. Contact me if you would like to join.

Well I have now viewed the last episode of the original season of Upstairs, Downstairs. As expected, 165 Eaton Place was closed down. Now I must find my next Trek viewing source of entertainment. It is somewhat a kin to being at a drive-in movie theatre.

My next Interlake goal is now about 52 miles north. Stay tuned and enjoy,

Jim

Day 40 – Jim’s Trek – 17.6 Miles Today - Seoul, South Korea

Good Day,

This morning I’m now on the Cochran Short Route, 11 miles south east of Macon, Georgia. The scenery this morning is a wee bit more pleasant. I have always liked trekking on back roads.

On Day 40 I increased my mileage to 17.6 miles. This means I only have 2,757.3 miles left to complete my original Tampa to Seattle Trek goal.

Total Direct Miles to Seattle   To Date TD Miles Remaining   % TD Miles Completed   Interlake Miles Left to Seattle   Weight (lbs)
3,301.0 543.7 2,757.3 16.47% 5,455.6 173.8

And no, I am not celebrating National Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friend Day. I have just dismounted off my Schwinn 150… and it is laundry day. Just a subtle hint to the two spammers who just attempted to entice me by offering more Russian brides. (Why do I keep flashing to a number of past Law and Order Episodes?)

Here’s a thought. If we move to Seoul, South Korea, right now, within four months the savings made from their superior telecommunications services, as compared to what one pays for the substandard equivalent in United States, would pay for the airline ticket. And their telecommunications services literally blow the US services out of the water. US services are now becoming a joke around the world… And here’s a question – Why are start-ups relocating to Kansas City? High-speed Google Fiber network!!!

Upstairs, Downstairs presents October 1929. Second to last episode; the producers must be looking for ways to go out graciously.

Enjoy,

Jim

Day 39 – Jim’s Trek – Appreciate Houseplants

Good Day,

And now the total miles clocks at 526.1; another 17.0 miles today. This morning I’m on my Schwinn 150 on the Golden Isles Highway headed northward toward Albert Jenkins Road and Macon, Georgia. Nice that the roads are free of a lot of vehicular traffic at this time in the morning…

Total Direct Miles to Seattle   To Date TD Miles Remaining   % TD Miles Completed   Interlake Miles Left to Seattle   Weight (lbs)
3,301.0 526.1 2,774.9 15.94% 5,473.2 173.0

Okay this must be my day to celebrate… Today is Peculiar People Day. It is the day that honors uniquely different people. Un-ordinary, extraordinary, unusual, strange, odd, uncommon, intriguing, different, abnormal, and quirky… Not generalizing, but does not this white-wash the celebration to include every unique human being on the face of this planet?

And for those of you who speak to your houseplants, today is the day that you have to really cozy up to those green inhabitants of your domicile. The Holiday decorations have been taken down and your plants surely must feel lonely and plain. Today, Houseplant Appreciation Day, is the day to let your plants know just how special and important they are… And they are coming to take me away, ha-ha… just after I sit down for my tea celebration of Peculiar People Day.

Episode of Upstairs, Downstairs finds Lord Robert proposing and Lady Mummy definitely not approving… Meg leaves and then returns when she does not find that the grass is the same color on the other side. Two more episodes.

Enjoy,

Jim

Day 38 – Jim’s Trek – 500 Hundred Miles – Am I A Sucker?

Good Day,

Another of my Trek’s goals checked off. I have lasted 509.1 miles; another 17.0 today. Only about 85% of my total Tampa to Seattle Trek to go.

For those of you who are somewhat bored with my Trek I am now travelling north on the Eastman Cochran Highway toward Jack Spires Road. And just up a bit on the left side of the highway is Yawn Pond. How apropos? I never thought I would last this long and I am beginning to wonder if I just might be a wee bit off the mark.

Total Direct Miles to Seattle   To Date TD Miles Remaining   % TD Miles Completed   Interlake Miles Left to Seattle   Weight (lbs)
3,301.0 509.1 2,791.9 15.42% 5,490.2 172.2

Okay, please explain to me. Do I have it tattooed on my forehead? Do I write to incite idiots to think that I want to get married? Why oh why am I being bombarded with spam mail inviting me to acquiesce to a bride? Whether from Russia or Central America? I don’t speak Russian. I do speak Spanish, though. I wouldn’t mind having someone cook and do my laundry, and clean house… but I am quite capable to do it, MYSELF. Would not these dense and thick spammers spend their time more constructively? Or are there that many desperate persons out there in Internetland who are that daft to try out electronic partnership solicitations? Why the recent increases in “search for a bride” spam marketing? I wish I could create a reverse spam to respond immediately – “Leave my email address alone!!!”

And for anyone with a carpet on the floor in their home, it is time to shimmy and shuffle your feet. Today, January 9th is National Static Electricity Day. Question is why? I can find this oral link by the US Census Bureau. There has to be some reason for a tribute to static electricity. But I suppose if one is bald one is out of luck.

And here is another one for any egocentric, narcissistic individual out in Internetland… today is Play God Day!!! And again I question, WHY?

This morning’s episode of Upstairs Downstairs plot line takes on the triple “D’s”; drink, drugs, and death. Judge, jury, and attention to class. Next…

Enjoy,

Jim

Day 37 – Allergies and 17.0 Miles – Jim’s Trek

Good Day,

Today’s, achoo, miles in my Trek, achoo, equaled, achoo, another 17.0 miles, achoo. I think my nose is running at a, achoo, quicker pace than I can, achoo, pedal on my Schwinn 150, achoo. The glorious Tampa weather has tricked, it seems, the oak trees to producing at least two months earlier than ever… achoo. Honk, excuse me.

I am located on the McRae Highway in Georgia, south east of Eastman. Eastman is a city in Dodge County and has a population of somewhere about 14 thousand. Eastman is known for the establishment of the first Stuckey’s store in 1937.

My total miles – 492.1

Total Direct Miles to Seattle   To Date TD Miles Remaining   % TD Miles Completed   Interlake Miles Left to Seattle   Weight (lbs)
3,301.0 492.1 2,808.9 14.91% 5,507.2 174.2

January 8th is International Argyle Day. Wonder if the moths have made away with my old sweater. And you can get the pattern from Thingiverse.

This morning’s episode of Upstairs, Downstairs found the company of 165 Eaton Place on a vacation date in Scotland. Cold, wind, ghosts, and poachers are the bill de fare. My error this morning when I thought I had reached the final episode of Upstairs Downstairs. This morning’s episode “Will Ye No Come Back Again” just didn’t make sense as the end to a series. And I just found that I have one more DVD with four more episodes.

Enjoy,

Jim

Day 36 – Another 17.0 Miles – Orthodox Christmas January 7th in Central and Eastern Europe

Good Day,

Another 17.0 miles on my Trek on my Schwinn 150. An hour plus two minutes… Has this become a habit? 37 days and I’ve cycled 475.1 miles.

According to the Julian Calendar and in central and eastern Europe and other part Orthodox Christmas is celebrated. The day is a time of reflection, inner thoughts, and healing… and feasting.

Today my location, on route to my next Interlake address goal, is on the Golden Isles Highway at the Lancaster Farm Road. I’m just south east of McRae, Georgia and only 139.0 miles more to reach the next.

Total Direct Miles to Seattle   To Date TD Miles Remaining   % TD Miles Completed   Interlake Miles Left to Seattle   Weight (lbs)
3,301.0 475.1 2,825.9 14.39% 5,524.2 172.8

Last night’s supper was a quick concoction of Pillsbury Crescent rolls, salami, garlic and artichoke sauce, and cheese. I made stuffed pockets… Not bad. Quick, easy, and filling. Tonight’s supper, something with ground pork.

On the next to last episode of the original Upstairs, Downstairs series, there’s a “Tom cat caterwauling on a wall in the moonlight”. Could be a part of the wind down?

Enjoy,

Jim

Day 35 – Jim’s Trek Continues – Enjoy Theophany

Good Day,

Enjoy Epiphany, Theophany. I certainly glad that I am in Tampa. Maybe on my next Trek I’ll head toward Bulgaria.  Wonder if the boys dive for a cross in the freezing waters of Kalofer as they do in Tarpon Srpings?

This morning my Trek of 17.0 miles takes me past Hazelhurst, Georgia.

I’m on Lumber City Highway headed west-north-west toward my next Interlake address goal. I’ve just passed the Palms Memorial Gardens and tomorrow will be passing through Lumber City.

This area is famous for the long lasting world record of 1932 – the catch of a 22 pound 4 ounce Largemouth Bass. Guess I can hook up, (sorry bad pun), some fishing gear to my Schwinn 150?

Total mileage to date: 458.1 miles. I tell you I really didn’t want to get on my Schwinn this morning… but I figured I needed to push myself. My Physical Biorhythm is crossing the zero axes on a downward trend. Glad I got my 17 miles in before I checked my other Primary Rhythms. Prediction is that I keep my head down for the next week-and-a-half.

Total Direct Miles to Seattle   To Date TD Miles Remaining   % TD Miles Completed   Interlake Miles Left to Seattle   Weight (lbs)
3,301.0 458.1 2,842.9 13.88% 5,541.2 173.8

And while I’m on my Trek, why is it that there seems to be an increase of offers in my email folder regarding Russian brides. Wonder who figured that I need a bride? Goes to prove, that spammers are not as discretionary or targeted as the media may put them to be.  Away to the Junk Folder...

Flash heart attack on this morning’s episode of Upstairs, Downstairs. Question is, who will replace who, or is a contract soon to be terminated?

Jim’s Trek continues tomorrow.

Enjoy,

Jim

Day 34 – 12th Day of Christmas – Jim’s Trek Daily Mileage Increased to 17.0 Miles

Good Day,

On this 12th Day of Christmas, we celebrate and feast. Twelfth Night is the night before Epiphany which is the day the three Wise Men, Three Kings, or Magi arrived in Bethlehem. And these 12 drummer dudes are providing a cadence as I increase my Trek on my Schwinn 150 to today’s mileage of 17.0 miles.

My location is somewhere in the boonies in Georgia southeast about 174 miles from Atlanta. I am headed northwest on GA-19 N/US-23 N, the Alma Highway, toward Stream Road. It is about halfway between Alma and Hazelhurst.

Yesterday morning it appeared that there was a fowl gathering across the street. Typically we do not see as many birds, of different varieties, in this area. Yes there are many birds, but not as many flocking and just watching together. And to top it all, it was a bit eerie cause we had just watched Hitchcock’s The Birds, the night before.

Upstairs, Downstairs episode content and theme this morning was the 1926 General Strike. A fair handling of the anticipated attitudes of the classes: upper, middle, servants, and workers. The inserted image is of Tyldesley miners outside the Miners Hall during the Strike.

Max no longer looks like a mini-float from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. He has reached a good 9.8 lbs; down from the 14.8 lbs on his day of adoption. He now is a very svelte looking and healthy little puppy.

And Jim’s Trek continues. Only 2,859.9 Tampa to Seattle miles to go.  Waist measures this morning down on more inch - 39".

Enjoy,

Jim
